This was the transmission that was in my Spirit that I bought from Paul Fosen. Shifts awesome, firm, and quick. Since it's a 1991 model trans it has the lockup torque converter. If you have a 91-92 turbo car with an auto it will use this plug n play. If you have an older one, you can add a toggle switch like Paul did on the Spirit and then make it work that way. This is a great transmission if you have a quick spooling turbo or a N/A car. WIth the lockup enabled going 60-70 on the highway netted my Spirit (2.5 TI) about 28-32 MPG according to the little travel computer. The tag on the trans says it was redone in late 1998. All you need to do is change the filter (for good practice and because the gasket there looks cruddy) and drop it in your ride. Even has a good speed sensor installed into it already! Paul told me it had really low mileage (I think he said 15-20K) and I drove the car only 4500 miles since I bought it with that trans in it. I wanted a high stall TC and a built to heck trans for the car so that's why the sale of this.

Opening up the sale at $400 OBO. (Saw similar price from a club member here). Nothing wrong with it at all, just needs a home. Call me at 815 547-1707. I want it sold as soon as possible to get some other things for the NY'er that it needs.

You can mail up to 70 lbs. USPS. Can the tranny be broken down into units of no more than 70 lbs. each?

Let's try a different approach: will you consider selling the valve body separately?

I posted I was buying before reading all the details. (I deleted the message) Is this a TURBO torque converter? And WHERE is Belvidere???? I'm interested in the whole setup. Will pay for the 35 gal rubbermaid container and shipping plus $350 for the transmission and torque converter. This will be going in a 250 hp 2.5 TII.

This is a good transmission. I won't tear it apart. Sorry. If you need a valve body I'll see if my friend can get you one.

Belvidere is right nearby Rockford, IL. Almost every Neon and Caliber is made here at the Belvidere plant. From what I understand this is a turbo spec transmission AND torque converter. 1991-1992 turbo 2.5 cars had electronic lockup so that's why this is like that.

If you want it looneytuner it's yours. :) I might have a new filter laying around here for it. If I do I'll toss that in for you too.

Bump it up! I can ship this if you buy a container for it and pay the shipping costs. You'll also have to tell me how in gods name you pack a transmission correctly. :)

How about a trade for all the crud needed to put a 5 speed into a 89 GTC or a 88 Sundance turbo? Or something else? Name something good and I might want it, as long as it's not things to make the turbo engines go faster than they do from the factory. Reliability is my key thing for now. :)

Someone have an offer at least? Or trade for a 5 speed conversion for my 99 Neon...?
