do you know what kind of timing numbers the ecu is programmed for in WOT?

A guy asked me this...any ideas.

I beleive the timing numbers are all based on RPM and MAP. MiniMopar (Russ) sent me tables once but I don't have them...

If you check out D-cal all of the tables are there.

No simple answer as it all depends on RPM and MAP at the time...

+1 on the dcal site, they have graphs which show the correlation. No voodoo to those at all.

Except the 2.5 T1 graphs on D-Cal are wrong. They're missing some info. I don't have my stuff in front of me right now (I left my thumb drive at work - doh!). I'll post it tomorrow if someone doesn't do it first...

I shouldn't say the Excel sheet is wrong. I haven't checked. But, it was made before I published the flowchart for the '89 T1 advance. So it was made using the flowchart for the '89 T2 advance. The program flow and lookups are a little different.

On the '89 T1, if the engine is up to temperature (>122*F), and assuming there is no knock - and there hasn't ever been any knock (there is a feature to reduce advance due to knock on a long-term basis), then the advance at WOT/full boost is ~3* up to 2K rpm, then ramps up to 24* by 6K rpm.

The advance at part throttle is a little higher than that.

And the advance can be significantly higher than that at lower boost/vacuum levels.

Actually, I just looked at the graphs that are on D-Cal, they look about right for the '89 T1, as long as there is no, and never has been any, knock...
