Need to replace parking brake shoes on my Lebaron, {the lining came off}. They are from an '89 Daytona Shelby. Only place I've found them is at local Dodge dealer. They want something like $54 and say I need a parking brake shoe kit screw, nut and adjusters, around $90 per side. So if I understand them correctly it's around $150.00 per side total. Anyone have experience replacing these and can tell me what they experienced. What all they had to replace and where they got the parts?

I got them at a local auto parts store. They were Raybestos brand. Sorry, no P/N.

Raybestos 643PG, 31.99 from advance. I used the new ones from the dealer, $54 is a good price, I paid $75 for mine, they changed to the neon parking brake shoes and where the adjuster goes on the shoe is thicker than the old ones. I took a dremel tool and ground them down till the old adjuster fit. It doesn't take much to grind them down.

Have a look as well at www.rockauto.com this is my favourite for standard replacement parts. very fast and good service! That said, for obvious reasons I only can use suppliers that are willing to ship to Europe. But from what I hear theire prices are supposed to be good as well in comparison to alternatives available in the US....

I got mine from the dealer. I paid $60 for both sides with a hardware kit. but I get parts at cost + 5%. I ordered a few sets from auto parts stores from various years but nothing was ever right. I was working with an axle from an 89 Lebaron LX (vert) I put on my 91 vert.

Sorry stan I have been out of work all week, I did some digging one day and came up with some parts kits that were cheaper, let me try to find the thread.

I'm confused because I went to advance auto and bought new P-brake shoes for $33 and $10 of that was a core, so what's with this $100 stuff. This is for a Spirit R/T rear, then I bought a hardware kit for a neon from napa, $10 a side, as they had it listed using the same adjusters.

What are you confused about? I was just listing dealer prices and the different cars they fit. Where you get it is up to you. I did say that 95-01PL is the same which is a neon

I am just confused as at least half a dozen people are asking where to get the shoes and they are available at any of the local part stores

are the spirit shoes the same as the daytona shelby shoes? if so how about a part number from adanve....they told me they don't have a listing for them.

well online they have p-brake shoes for the 91 spirit rears, but not for an 89 daytona. I am not sure there the same either, I would assume that if they are the 11"vented rears then yes
