Okay, I've been asking this question on TD.com with no response so far. I really need some help here.

I am in the process of installing rear disc brakes from a 89 Shadow ES on my 83 Rampage. These brakes have the small drum assembly built into the disc for the emergency brake. Everything swaps over just fine, but I cannot figure out how to slide the spring on the Rampage cable down far enough to allow the cable to slip into the acuator arm. The diameter of the spring itself is too large to fit into the arm. I'm sure someone has had to have done this conversion - is there some trick to this? Is there something simple that I'm missing?

Can you take a picture?

I put the dynasty's rear on my GLH with no problems.

Got it done, finally. I was able to hold the end of the cable with vice grips, and slide the spring down with another set of vice grips, and had the wife slide the arm over the cable. Now I just need to figure out how to adjust the drums so the brake actually works.
