87 sc with pizzas..what is the lightest rim for drag racing? and yet still be ok on street.

i was thinking what mopar or a gm cheep steel was really light?

lifting my pizzas.....they seem way heavy.....any thoughts

and i want to run slicks on em next summer will all rims hold up?

want rims from pik n pay not customs.(cheep) :thumb:

I think that the 14"? aluminum wheels that were on some of the chryslers back when would be the way to go for light weight. They looked like steel wheels and weighed next to nothing. they were quite rare though. I think we only saw a handful of those in the shop in my 7 years of busting tires. They were a conversation starter every time though.

i would say 14" or 15" steelies. Make sure you spray paint them black so you fit in with the honda dudes:thumb:

Some of the 91-93 era Imperials had 14" Aluminum wheels that looked just like steel ones. If I remember right they weigh in around 11lbs, lighter than any of the other factory wheels I've handled.

if you want some imperial rims let me know, cause in a yard down by yogurtslinger is a complete set. Think its 15-20 a rim
