1st pass off the trailer the car went 10.15 @ 136. I had the boost turned down from my usual 30 down to 25psi. Get back to the pits, double check everything, add some fuel. Set the boost to 28 for my 2nd qualifying run. The car ripped off a awesome first 9 second pass!! Take a look:

r/t - .152
60'- 1.569
330'-4.219
1/8- 6.433
mph-111.23
1000-8.352
1/4- 9.997
mph- 137.54

I was freaking out when I picked up the time slip. The 60' went from a best of 1.66 to 1.56 a whole tenth, and I think I can get some more out of it as well :) After I got back to the pits I was called up to the front for a "talking to" basically they said I had to turn it down because I had no chassis cert. or license. No prob, I'll get it taken care of. So I turned the boost back to 23 psi and made some easy low 10 sec passes. And after I went on to win the Turbododge Heads Up class. Woohoo! I did have a great day and want to thank everyone who was there for me today in thoughts and in person. Thank You!!

Thanks everyone. I am still on a high after yesterday.

As far as car specifics go, the car weighed in at 2190 yesterday, the turbo is a T3/T4 60 trim stage 3 turbine, nothing huge but way out of its efficiency range currently. A GT40 will work nicely :thumb:

You're right Ken, the added wb definitely seemed to help tremendously, the car has never felt so smooth and driven so nice. The SRT-4 guys were a good bunch of guys, it just so happened that a faster car showed up. I do give them their props those car are damned fast. I am going to try and get everything squared away for Cecil on the 11th. Can't wait!!

wow Im impressed that you have gone that fast on the to4e 60 trim.

Im sure your motor will love the bigger turbo next season.

Thanks a bunch Frank! I couldn't get it to load no matter what I tried.

"What cams were u usin?"

Stock 2.0 cams, over on srtforums they are saying that you can not run 10's on stock 2.0 cams, they're right you can run 9's!!

How much work have you done to the head? Stock valves? What EFI system do you run?

I simply love that car!!

PS, thanks for the video, Frank.

you can run 12's with a stage 1, wga, exhaust and slicks. that's not built... no need to hate.

"How much work have you done to the head? Stock valves? What EFI system do you run?"

The head has stock size stainless valves, all of the porting was done by me. I used my flowbench to get the numbers going in the right direction. As far as the the efi system, I am running '88 electronics with a calibration that Gary Donovan built for me a few years ago. It was setup for when I had the 2.5 in the car, but the 2.2 doesn't seem to mind it.

well i spoke to them, all had 60 trim turbos, massive ICs, different fuel regulators and a host of aftermarket items thats were custom. each car was better than a Stage 1

Wow... they must not be very smart SRT4 owners. Making modifications when you dont understand the car to begin with is just wasting money... obviously!

off topic for thread but.... bolt-ons don't mean the car is built. As you can tell by the almost stock Neon head that Brian is using with a 60 tirm. You can make it run you just have to know how. Most of the srt guys buy the parts and don’t know how to tune them. It is the same problem here. “I bought a t3/t4 but I only run 13’s” There is no need to InterMopar hate. Do you like going to a Mopar event and have the old school guys act like your Daytona isn’t a “Real” Mopar? If anything give them some tips on tune because at least they aren't driving hondas!

I chatted with one of the SRT4 guys who ran an 11.3 today. The impressive thing about his car, and even the 12-second SRT4s, is that they are pretty much full-interior, full-weight cars. The 11.3 today was a car that weighs right at 3000 lbs with driver. I hope to have one of those 12-second SRT4s next year. Slicks would put me there now, I think, since I'm running 13.3 on street tires. No power-adders really except Stage 2 w/toys and full 2.5" exhaust.

BTW...WHAT HAPPENED TODAY?!? I heard that maybe the Shadow ran one or more 9.9s again?

Edit...I was curious and just looked up some wheelbase info. The Neon has 8 inches on a stock Shadow. But a Rampage has an inch more than a Neon. :eyebrows:
