Does anybody know the story on the "Chrysler Lotus" TIII valve covers that can be seen here:

I've always wanted one of these, and apparently they do exist, but I doubt I'd be able to pry one out of the hands of somebody that had one. I have a lead on a guy willing to rebrand a valve cover for me, so if I could just borrow one for a repop that would be cool. I have lots of rare things that could be used as collateral to make it happen, plus compensation.

If I remember right, these valve covers were used on export cars with the TIII engine (Europe). I wonder if anybody on the forum is from Europe and can get their hands on one? I'd definitely make it worth their while since I do love the rare/strange stuff!

Weren't Canadian RT's badged as Chryslers also? Might be some covers floating around up there.

Heh, well I am an avid collector and tinkerer, but there are quite a few out there that know far more than I (regarding 16v Lotus TIII and Masi 16v). Without them I couldn't be doing what I'm doing to these cars.:amen:

You're correct. Mine is a branded as a Chrysler, unfortunately I'm not lucky enough to have these.

TIII spirits in Mexico and Canada were branded Chrysler, however none got the covers that said 'chrysler-lotus'. Those were Euro export only covers and obviously are extremely rare. I was in contact overseas about purchasing one but never came to be. He had estimated that there was maybe 30 or so ever cast.

Dayum, I didn't think they were that rare. I was hoping to snag one and have a professional repop done. Or a few.

If someone finds a treasure-trove or 1 and can have Lengel or someone faithfully repop it, I'm in.

Me too... I have one of Lengel's TiII covers. It is excellent to say the least. And I have a 'real' one to compare to.

I'd be in for one too, to go on my TIII-swapped Lebaron.

I'll take a repop or a repop Shelby cover too. :amen:
