Center Console 88 Shelby

I had a question if anyone would chime in on. I wanted to know if the center console out of a 88 Shelby daytona would fit & bolt up in a 85 laser ?
I know the buttons are different i was not going to use them i just wanted to use the console & use the buttons i have.

V150GL7 is the console base for 1986-91 J,G,Q bodies, that includes the 1888 Daytona

F476DX9 (black) is the console for the 85 G Body

V150GL7 supersedes F476EE8 1986 (cordovan) for the G Body

so they should mount the same but the tops are obviously different from 1985-1988

I'll add that there was a shade of colour change in 88 OR 89 (I'm not sure when) the later console will be a lighter shade of charcoal grey

a lebaron J body console is just dark grey , a different colour yet again

and , the metal mounting plate under it changed in 87 where the shifter cables clip to the plate
they moved the clip points ever so slightly

but all 84-89 consoles fit with the exact same screw points

the switches are also different (windows) , not just the top that you touch with your finger
