This may be a stupid question but I have been looking and have not yet found the answer. I have a set of enthusiast seats that I am retrofitting in an older car. The are in nice operating condition but I want to have them reupholstered in different colors/materials. I was looking at the buttons that control the seat functions and can't figure out, for sure, how to remove it to allow the material to be brought right up to that control. It is very possible that whoever I take the seats to will just know how to manipulate these controls, or just my luck, will break them trying to remove them.

So, my question is, how do you remove this control panel from the seat without breaking it? I was able to pull it up a little ways but then it stopped and I didn't want to force it and break it myself. Is this removable purely from the top without having to detach the upholstery in any way?

Like i said, maybe it will not be an issue but I thought I would ask for help in advance.

Thanks.

Most of the OEM stuff the buttons for the controls will pull straight off. Then remove the screws that hold the plastic cover to the seat. Wa-Lah, done done

I will take another look and see what I can figure out.

I figured it out. With a little patience and coaxing I was able to get the whole switch module to slide up until the wires and hoses ran out of slack. If these were disconnected I am sure it would have slid right up and out. Hope this helps someone else.
