While putting the finishing touches on the engine today I managed to break off a corner of the Shelby valve cover. Anyone have one for sale for a reasonable price?

Get it welded. Make sure you use the correct gasket for it.

I might have one. It does not use the 1 piece VC gasket. Came from and 87 S car.

Is it a shelby valve cover or is it one that says turbo?

Not trying to be a d*ck.....why would I offer a turbo one when you asked for a Shelby VC???? Yes it is a Shelby cover.

dont know your setup but i saw a chinese head that was cast wrong and caused the VC to break, make sure the head is flat in that corner

what gasket was being used when it broke? The only VC I've broken was with a Fel-pro gasket and I feel with the way it fit when going on it was the cause of breaking the VC.

There seem to be a lot of broken Shelby valve covers. Not sure if there was a casting flaw or a material difference. Maybe all the broken TURBO valve covers just got thrown away.
Work your way around, gradually snugging the bolts so there isn't too much pressure in any one spot. Use a small 1/4 inch ratchet. It will help limit the amount of torque you can apply.

Probably sold the wrong gasket and the owner doesn't know any better. 1 piece gasket on pre 88 cover = broken covers.
