what did others use to attach the passenger side (equal length) axle to the 2.4 block? obviously, the old 2.2 mount doesn't match up.

sorry about the bad pic. it doesn't show the whole mount and the how the bolt holes don't line up to anything. i'll try to get a better one.

ok - let me throw this out there.......

since my passenger side axle tripod is shot i need to replace it. would it just be simpler to get a long axle (88-90 omni auto?) and kill 2 birds with one stone, i.e. fixes the tripod and don't have to worry about the mount?

Yup. Depending on how much power you plan on making, I broke my intermediate shaft u-joint at 360 hp/460 ft/lbs of torque.

Aj, are you saying the intermediate shaft setup is stronger or weaker

Intermediate set-up is weaker. Many people have broken either the u-joint or the intermediate axle. Now that I think about it, maybe I ought to switch to the long shaft also.

The intermediate shaft setup is just adding an unnecessary weak link to the chain.

i read through a ton of posts on this. thanks for confirming. i assume then for an SC with a 555 that the 88-90 omni Right auto axle is the one to get.

It should clear without issue.
