Is there any info listed somewhere for this years SDAC? I was told it is in Memphis, but I can't find any info anywhere....

Almost set from the last communication I had with them. JT will provide the details when it's done. I think it will be a great venue for everyone and excellent parking, I believe.

I'm bringing a TON of GLH parts to sell, stock 10hole wheels with 75% tread tires, lotsa parts that will have been replaced with NOS, front seats if they fit in the hatch. TII turbo, whatever *wasn't used* on the build for RedBox etc. Parts will be reasonably price at the swap meet and fire sale priced after that so Cordes doesn't have to share space with them all the way back to Cali after SDAC:lol:

EDIT: Are there any fireworks for sale in Memphis area:eyebrows:

There are always fireworks for sale in the south. :) There is one right up the road from my house and the host hotel (which is NOT the MicroTel, btw). I'll have to check on ordinances for my house, but I've shot fireworks there before on the 4th holiday. I have neighbors, so probably will be ok to do it for a little, but not all night. But if it's not allowed outside the holiday "window", the host hotel is in Memphis and you can probably get away with it and not get in trouble. I think Memphis city doesn't allow fireworks, but that may have changed in the last 10 years or so.

If there aren't you know that there have got to be explosives for sale in AR or MS.

MS ALWAYS has good fireworks, but there will be enough places open for the oncoming 4th holiday to get some locally.

There are 34 cities in the OC, only 4 of them allow 'safe and sane' fireworks in the two week period adjacent to 4th of July. Safe and sane fireworks suck! Only fountains, bloomflowers, snakes-crap like that. Being a bit of a pyro( when I was younger;)) I like to get my fireworks fix on when I travel to states that have the good stuff:eyebrows:

You're also in CA, which is getting more legal by the minute. County doesn't have emissions testing at all and Memphis in the last 3-4 years stopped all inspections, emissions or otherwise. Just bring cash and a wish list and you'll get what you want.

Bummer about the goKart track, we had a GREAT time there during SDAC 12. It is amazing how much more fun go karts and bumper boats are with 3-400 more RPM!

And the hotel is conveniently located right off of the "Chef" highway!

If there were room to park 50 cars there, it may have been viable, but the space was EXTREMELY limited, let alone when you've got 10+ trailers. The 1/8 mile "drag strip" next to Costco leading to the hotel was the only real plus to the hotel.

haha Pool I think is inside. The hotel was recently renovated, so rooms are up to date, water in the pool, etc. The "fun center" or whatever it was called has been closed down for a while. I'm not encouraging ANYTHING, but a couple of mini bikes on the track would be kinda fun. :) As of a few weeks ago, the place hadn't been touched and was still for sale. It's been that way for a decade or so, probably longer. They are doing construction on the interstate interchange, so they MAY use the parking area to store a truck or two, but when I've been by a few times it's empty. LOTS of parking and should be fun for all.

My guess is you will be following a similar route to me. I'm leaving from NE Indiana about 8 am Friday. Plan right now is I-69 South to Indy, I-70 over to 55, down to 57, then come in the West side of Memphis. Should put us at the host hotel about 6pm. We considered I-65 down to Nashville, but that is a long, boring route. 55 & 57 look much more scenic going down near the Mississippi River...

I would follow 69 to 155 that goes through Dyersberg, TN. I've been down that route many a time and going through AR and MO will be met with a lot of traffic, I think. Maybe it's not as far as I think, but the host hotel is at 240 and 40, which is on the northeast side of the city and 55 comes in due west across the river. Better entrance, but it may be further. But I've done the drive from Indy to my house MANY times and I can do it in about 6 hours, maybe just a little shy of that.

I'll look into that route. I know when I ran Google maps, it gave me the choice of going I-65 to Nashville & over, or I-70 to 57 to 55. There was only a mile difference & about 3 minutes difference between the two routes. I'm just looking for something besides 4 lane boredom. But I don't want to get stopped in every little 1 stop light town either...

Nevermind, it's only faster if you go by my house. :p Which, I am inviting everyone who is coming in Friday to come to my house, but understand if everyone is tired from driving and wants to crash at the hotel. I'll post up the thread closer to the event, but you are welcome to come by Friday night for sure. :thumb:

We'll see how the others in my group feel, but I'm up for it! I've wanted to see your Charger for several years now.

Well I really need to get the engine out so I can paint the bay and install a 555 that's just sitting in my garage, but come on by! Not sure if Slowe will be there Friday night or not, but he's the one that did the major work to it and can receive the accolades for the amazing job. :)

I plan on it. I've not been able to network with a lot of TM guys. I want to meet all of you guys this year, shake some hands, and get to know you guys better. The forums are great, and all the knowledge is amazing, but meeting you guys in person is so much better.

Take I-69 south into Indy, Go east around the loop to tie into I-70 west(It's 8 miles shorter then going around the west side, trust me) Pick up SR 41 south just before leaving Indiana and take it all the way thru' Evensville into Kentucky and pickup I-69 again WELL HELLO, THEIRS THAT ROAD AGAIN and take it all the way into Tennessee 'TIL YOU TIE INTO SR-51 SOUTH. Ask Minigts how that hooks up with his place. I'll miss you guys, tip over a long neck for me, Jer

JT, Alan, Wayne. You guyz are makin' me feel all warm 'n fuzzy. Have fun down in Graceland and try and stay cool. I mean you'z all cool dudez we know but like, the muggy meter iz off the chart in that town. Last time I waz there the only time I got cooled down waz in the shower and cruisin' on the river(There waz ah slight breeze) Oh? And ice tea won't help. It only keeps you awake and you gotta wear ah catheter. St Pauli iz way better, trust me, Jer

Does anybody want to split a room? I already booked a room with two beds. I'll be there Friday thru Wednesday morning. [/I]
