Turbo-dudes (and dudettes):

I have a 89 Dodge Lancer Shelby and the plastic valve thing that is supposed to send hot water to the heater is not working properly so I am removing it and just connecting all the hoses back together. Does it matter which hose that goes to the heater gets connected to the water pump hose and which to the head hose? I mean it is just a heater coil but are there any check valves, debris issues, etc. that I have to be concerned about? So, at the firewall the two hoses go into the heater, one top hose, one bottom hose, does it matter which one goes to the water pump and which goes to the head connection. This is my daily driver and I need to get it back together this weekend. Thanks!

I don't believe it really matters, like you said. But, by the parts manual drawing the bottom should go to the water pump, and the top should go to the head.

That being said. While you have it apart, a good reverse flushing definitely wouldn't hurt anything.

Scamp,

Thanks for the input! Plumbed it up the way you described (after a proper flushing [no debris whatsoever]) and I now have heat!

Appreciate your getting back so quickly.
