View Full Version : Well, the van beat the record again, but....

ok, here's the run down of the time slip.

60 ft------1.855
330-------5.044
1/8th-----7.741@90.77 (blew up right before this, sucked a valve and burned a spark plug)
1000-----10.134 never revved passed 6450 the rest of the track so pretty much stopped accelerating at the eighth
1/4------12.265@103.36 the MPH shows how badly it fell on it's face.

The bad news is, it pretty much gave up. it wouldnt drive home, pulled the valve cover off and one of the rockers were off a valve, the cam cap was off and oil was all over the engine bay. pulled the spark plugs out and cyl 1 was burned up, nothing left, my meth injection wasnt kicking in. It was a sad day in the life of the van, but OH WELL, gonna have to build it better next time for the omni :eyebrows:

Shitty dude, sorry to hear about the engine and you didn't hit 11's. Looks like we both didn't get our goals this year, :(

Dang, that's rough. It's hard on parts to put an aerodynamic brick to 100mph that quick with 4 cylinders!

Well Corby, atleast you blew it up trying hard. Any word on why the meth wasn't kicking in??

I'm still blown away that you've gone this fast. Don't give up on it. Rebuild it and keep her in the 11's. :nod:

PLEASE build another block for it and keep running. Travel to different tracks just for the laughs and the fun. NOTHING beats racing and winning in a minivan..NOTHING!

wow, alot of those people are missing the point of fun by doing it with somethign that was never ment to be fast.. The ones talkin the trash on how this or that is badass and how its just a van are the ones who live off of hopes, dreams and pictures of other peoples cars that they post up and say that its theirs.. ;)

Well done and I hope ya dont let this discourage you from forging forward on the project. To be the first and only Mini in the 11's will definatly get some attention.. 9 - 10 second firebirds are a dime a dozen.. :)

Well, I haven't completely given up hope. I am going to get the van in the 11's.. That pass could have been mid 11's if it would have held together. Gives me hope for next year,..

The challenge of a minivan to me has been to get the mph out of it. It seems like the minis have some impressive ETs with typically lower mphs. Punchin a large hole in the air with a minivan. Big congrats Corby, hopefully mine will soon be a contender as well.

Exactly, I trapped 99.6 mph this year, wish I could have hit 100mph, that would have been nice. :nod:
