Men;

Admins, we need a sticky!!!

Went to Edgewater Friday; they are having a *new* 2 day bracket event - November 4th and 5th.... :banghead:

So- Turbopalooza 2006 will need to be Saturday, November 11th, with a rain date of November 19th...:faint:

This is something new for them on the schedule, sorry for the inconvenience!!!

Now with the new date and Cecil being the same day, the conflict will leave me out of Turbopalooza. I was planning to be there on the 4th. Can't pull off the two places at once deal!

Hmmmm interesting problem. Should we move Turbopalooza up a weekend (oct 28?)? This would give 2 weeks between events.

would it be a sin to move it to Tri-state then, that is the last weekend they are open for the year...and it's better traction. Granted, we all wont get to whoop on as many ricers then. but hey, just a suggestion

Reeves

The 18th is a test-n-tune saturday at E-water.
Tri-State doesn't haven't anything on their schedule past Oct. Are they even open in November?

October 14th and 15th is the final days this season for Tri-state.

If you ever get together there, I'll be there!!

Outside of Turbopalooza, is anyone interested in meeting up at Tri-state on the 15th?

that would be me, I was having some issues that night could only hit a 14.87 as my best, I put a cutout in and hit overboost with the boost turned all the way down, spent the rest of the night trying to get my boost set right again. Best time for it was a 14.62 at the southern mopar shootout at clay city.

LOL.... Funny how boards bring folks together. Reeves was there driving his Mom's red SRT 4. ran 12's. Saw you and didn't get to hook up. If he had, your issues would have been resolved. Please make it a point to get to 'Palooza. Festivities at my house. We can answer your questions.

so I take it your the one with the 10 second omni everyone keeps telling me about. Each car event I go to, everyone tells me about this 10second omni, I was talking to a guy I think you were pitted near and he told me to go talk to you but I was busy and frustrated with how i wasted my money on the cutout, he was running an old mopar don't remember which one, real nice guy he took me out in brackets first round at the mopar event. Are you guys in lexington by any chance?

It was in columbus forget the event. The vette owner "sam" made a big scene regarding the pure race Omni. Basically called the omni a "ringer". James bought him a piece of cake at Hooters...

Skinnye... The cut-out was not a waste. I made 22ft lbs (341) and 11 hp (291) more on the Dyno with one. That was with an ill tuned car.

The video was from the Dunlop Neo Fest (or whatever it was called back then) in 2004.

The guy in the 'vette was none too happy to lose to the Omni...he even photoshopped a timeslip to make it look like he ran faster than James earlier in the day, then posted it on the Columbus Street Scene board (?I think that was the name of the board?). Unfortunately for him, the timeslip he photoshopped was one of him running against Joe O'Connor. Joe posted the original, and the 'vette guy had a heaping helping of crow to eat to go with the cake.

What kind of cutout?

just a cheapy summit 2.5inch one, I have a stock 88 engine so it has the lightweight rods, so I don't boost over the stock fuel cut cause I don't want my rods blowing through the block and I currently have a stock pcm. I turned my boost all the way down and opened the cutout on the first run, hit 5lbs of boost at first and than it spiked like crazy and hit fuel cut so I coasted the rest of the way down the track 18second ftw. So I went back in the pits and closed the cutout, and spent the rest of the night trying to get my boost set :(

EDIT: IF... big IF, I can 18MPG it'll probally be around $70 in gas. Not as bad as I thought, I guess.

I think the neon might stay together as long as it can run in the 15's that way. It has an SRT-4 exhaust, TD parts cold-air, strut bar and a tach now. Of course the speakers will come out before the trip begins. And I will most definitely have all the necessary tools to strip off a couple hundred pounds. If I have time I'll bring tools to take off the rear bumper. And SC wheels and tires for the front for gear and grip. I'm thinkin a 15.90 is possible in street trim.

Luckily, it sealed up again, but I don't think she'll take much more of that...

Sounds like you need some ARP studs or bolts!

Mike (or is it Hashmir?)

Thanks for the advice, but I've already got ARP studs, (you think it might be time to re-check the torque?)...the problem is really detonation (bang bang bang) at over 29 psi of boost. Luckily, the cometic has re-sealed twice after lifting the head.

I'm not sure how much over 29 psi, all I know so far is that I'm seeing 5V output from my 3-bar map sensor. I have to get my 0-100 psi transducer scaled correctly in my datalogging software, so I can really know where I am (ie, how much is "all of it" really?). Then, I will lower the boost and slowly raise it, making sure I have the fuel I need to be safe. Then let the fun begin.

1qwk4dr,

I bought a fender and a door on Sat. :D and a radio, headliner, mirror.

At the time it wasn't leaking or at least not that much. If I knew it then I would have been super glad to have yours or sexy's help. I'm a DOHC kinda guy and have swapped some cams in the day and have put in seals but always like to have an experienced hand take me through the timing process to be sure and give me the shortcuts/trix etc on a diff motor. But overall I'm stoked over the car. It drives real nice and it is pretty peppy also. I love the smooth shifting A555 it feels like it has shifter bushings in it. My SRT has a dumptruck GB it seems and the shift is "notchy" in comparison but it is tough and can take some torque.

I'll be going at 9-1 on sunday the 12th. If you register you can pick 2 srt vehicles(ex 300, Viper, SRT-10 Ram, etc) to drive around their close track course in Kings Islands Parking Lot. There will be a drifting show also. Please throw a name in to the pre registration for the fact they probably want to know how many people they need to accommodate for. The event is free btw. I'm not sure if there is a parking charge though. I think it would be fun morning or day. If you really want they also are having it on Saturday 9-1. This would be a fun event before Turbopalooza!

I just preregistered for the event on saturday at 9 to 1, so I'll go there first and leave for edgewater around 11 something to be there in time for racing. Thanks for posting this I always wanted to do something like this:thumb:

Kewl, tell me what it's like if you get to go on Saturday. I'll be the guy without a Dodge to drive to Edgewater. No motor installed:(

By the way you can get to edgewater in about 40-45 minutes from Kings Island so you don't have to be in a hurry if racing starts at 1.

I like getting to the track early to let the car cool down:thumb: but yeah I'll let ya know right now looks like i'm going by myself looks like fun though I want to do the jeep off road thing, you don't get to drive the srt vehicles though its just the regular street cars I beleive and a professional driver can take you out in either an srt8 jeep, srt10 viper, or a srt8 300c, and they have an off road course for the suvs

Ahh, I guess I was looking forward driving a Jeep SRT-8 and maybe a viper. A ride in one is good still.

The cart track is in Lawerenceburg, Indiana - almost across the street from the Argosy Casino, RT. 50, about 6 miles from E water.

if all goes well tomorrow the laser might make a rather not-so-legal appearance at the track saturday afternoon.

incase anyone is wondering bout the not so leegal part, the exhaust is still a 3 in round 8 inch long pipe welded to the swingvalve

Better decide something fast. I am loading up the trailer tonight, and would rather not do that if there is no racing.
I will, however, kick YOUR arse at the go-kart track if there is no drag racing, R/T. :bolt:

Should we make a decision based on the weather if we go to Tri-State or go to Go-Karts? Or just all meet at the track first?

Reeves
11-10-2006, 11:02 AM
And should we make a new sticky stating that the track has changed?

Meet at TriState...

Gates open at 12:30, racin' 1pm till 5pm.

If weather is bad, we should wait a while for people, then caravan to the Kart track, where I'll put the smackdown on Matt.... :p

( if I have a good kart, with high HP, good tires, etc....)

well, I knew in the back of my mind that this was going to be my fate once the date changed! Oh well.

Im not going to turbopalooza. :( Havent made the last 2 for one reason or another and Im not going to make this one. Ive got to many things going that day, and its not fair to either thing to try and half --- it and go to both. I would end up missing a lot of both if I try to do both, and probably making the wifey made to boot. So its easier to just go to one, the one she HAS to go to, and blah! I will be there in the spring, as long as no other stupid family-inlaw items come up.

Once I finally made it to Kens (after our tour guide decided on the extra long scenic trip, RN breaking down, and waiting on the Bus & Trailer to catch up) it was a great time as always. Things pretty much looked the same as they did last year @ Kens.....Cars sitting around broken with talk about one day running..........almost like listening to diarrhea Matt.........Blah Blah Blah Blah.........Ha Ha J/K

Funny you should mention diarrhea...

I'm really sorry I missed seeing you all. If I had shown up, Matt wouldn't have been the only one with diarrhea. Between puKen, the sicKening feeling in my stomach and worrying about leaKen, I wouldn't have been much fun anyways.

But a winter Kartapalooza event sounds like a blast!!! (I wonder if we could smuggle in some VHT and put it on the tires?)
