Well went out to the midnights last night. They were having a Clash of the Titans event so I didn't get to run till the wee hours. Track was prepped nicely due to the event. Everyone gave me the typical laugh for bringing a minivan out, but they soon learned why I was there. I've made a few mods since I was last out; Installed my coolant lines to the Dbb turbo, wasn't running them before & I suspected it was giving the engine a bit of a hot charge on the big end of the track. I installed a modified Talon BOV to hold over 22 psi, boost went to 24 psi in 3rd.

Remember that there are no timeslips for the midnights so I don't know what my 60's or 330's etc. were. I really don't even know what my trap speed was, my son was filming & I think he was just too excited to look for the trap speed, I told him to say what the et was, forgot about the traps.

First run was a 14.3. Tires spun extremely hard @ 24psi. 5th injector off.
Second run was a 14.21, I pedalled the gas a little better. 5th injector on.
Third run I decided to run the 2 stage boost, out of the hole with 18psi, switch to 24psi on the fly, 5th injector on...... 14.08
Fourth & final run, 2 stage, 5th injector on..... 14.05

All runs were made on crappy street tires, pump 91 octane, 3,180 race weight with driver & 2 skateboards & daughters toys in the back. Everyone seemed to be cheering on the minivan. I did barely lose one race to a 13sec mustang. I lost by 1/2 a carlink cause I tree'd his a$$. Announcer recognized the van & remembered the "Lee Iaccoca" shadow. One run he said "straght out of the Lee Iaccoca garage, a Dodge Caravan!"

Here's a video of the 14.05 run. It's a solo run, couldn't flag a race. Listen to the announcer "Imagine getting beat by this guy"

Here's the 14.08 run. Lost this one to the mustang, but a close race. Gives a good idea how hard the mini pulls to the 1/8th. Yes I have the nads to post a loss, all part of racing.

you sir, are AWESOME! but only 91 pump gas? damn!

my advice would be by looking at your vids the weight transfer is throwing off your tractions, put some air shocks in the back and it should help... i believe a thread on td.com showed that on either a daytona or spirit it added another 150lbs on the front tires. good luck though! 13's next time for sure!

I have the air shock on! Thanks, though. Honestly, the Dbb turbo comes on so hard it's just hopeless to attempt traction on the street tires. Sure is fun to drive, hee he.

Definately get some slicks and you'll be in the 13's.

*Applauds VIGOROUSLY!!!!

Aweome! awesome! awesome!

Only one thing.. the van sounds so...so.. mild.. maybe even.. lazy coming out of the hole..... but it sure moves alot different than it sounds!! haha!

THAT VIDEO CAMERA is just like mine isnt it?? It WILL NOT pick up the sound of the turbo...or BOV or nothing!.. Just the sound of a moaning engine. I hate that so bad.

Hahahahaa, awesome dude, I love it. :thumb:

The other Friday, I did a massive burnout, my van and the other lane were gone in smoke, my window had broken that day so it was duct taped up but had a little gap as it moved down, I could hear the announcer go "Holy Sh*T" :thumb: :D

HO HO!! HEHE!! I CANT WAIT TILL NEXT SUMMER!!

But where am I gonna find SLICKS??? You dont do burnouts on street tires!! lol! It makes them get LESS traction and usually officials will steer you around the burnout box anyways!

Are you serious? you can buy them at speed shops, online at Jegs etc. I bought my 22 inch M/T's off Ebay and bought my 24.5's from here, Warren Stramers old tires. Next year should be a banner year, :amen:

LOL!!!! Thank you SO much for photoshopping that for me!!! There's this buddy of mine I work with that gave me SO much sh!t when I first got into the turbo mopars!! He drives a 2003 mustang GT. It ran a best of 13.98 naturally aspirated. As soon as the shadow hit a 14.1 I told him I was buying a turbo minivan, he went in debt up to his eye balls & bought a procharger supercharger for his Mustang. It now runs a best of 13.1 on street tires. Everyone really gave him hell over it because the only reason he bought it, he said is because "I don't want to see the taillights of a minivan at the dragstrip" I told him that supercharger wouldn't guarantee that he WOULDN'T be seeing the taillights of my minivan!! SO....... I printed out this modified picture & taped it to his toolbox as a little surprise for the morning!!! Thanks again, you made alot of the guys at our shop very happy!!
