What's the score on these things? Are they really the only thing which keeps the window from tilting forward? Both of them are broken on the driver's side of the CSX. I tried some of the HELP! ones from the parts store and they didn't work well at all. Am I installing them wrong or do I need to get a better part? I just put the parts store ones on the glass and forced them into the channel.

yup that's the only thing unless the track in the door is damaged. those help ones just don't work, the good ones are held on with a small metal rivet i had a local glass shop put some new ones on my window, cost like 10$ each but works like new

They're not the exact same as the ones I was trying to use, but you get the idea.

I went to the local glass place and he dug 4 out of a dusty box and gave them to me. Clips and fasteners .com has them but you have to buys a box of 25 I think.

Yep. Here they are. They're not expensive, even for 25. I'm more worried about the installation. Do you just use a rivet gun with these or what?

They come with two types of rivets.... standard rivet (requires a gun) and two piece (a pair of channel locks).
I've recently installed them using the two piece rivets and a pair of channel locks and it worked like a charm !

Thanks for that info. I'll order up a box of them so I have some for the future.

Yep channel lock also and then finished it off using a short 1/4 bolt to press it tight and square it up good.

OK, I couldn't tell which way the ridge is supposed to go when trying this with the cheap ones. Does the ridge go inside the car or on the outside?

The ridge goes on the inside. I checked tonight with a dental pick. I used some knipex adjustable pliers and the jaws were perfect to press the pieces together without touching the guide itself. Window is perfect again.
