I just changed my 54mm ATE to 54 mm KH and now the caliper is MUCH closer to the "spokes" of my rims.
So close I am concerned.Currently the thickness of my thumbnail
What is the recommend clearance?
I assume I could use a shim to get the clearance I need.

Wow that is exactly what I did.

3mm is just under 1/8" clearance. Others might have done it with less, but I would want no less than 3/16" clearance. 1/4" would be better, IMO.

Byran,
I would assume it would be best to use a shim for 1/8" or more.
I do have other rims but tire size is different, and thus I would need new tires, etc

I have never had the issue. However, the easiest way is to use the spacers. Brian and others might have done it and it works ok just grinding on the calipers. Anyone know how much you can grind off the caliper before it becomes a problem?
