Does anyone have any history on this car? It is for sale here
in my town for $6500.00. Car has 52,000 miles, auto tranny and leather. Interior is excellent.
Paint is great and all Shelby items are intact.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Tony, nice find! SL #400 originally sold at Southside Dodge in Indianapolis and yes, Auto/Leather is the documented combo for this car. If you get any pics, please e-mail them to me jt@badassperformance.com

Does anyone know if Shelby did any upgrades on the A-413
when they did the Shelby Lancer with the intercooled turbo.

Tony, no mods to the tranny. The 89 8V TC intercooled auto actually had a detuned SMEC. Not sure if the auto SL'ers had a detuned LM or not. Betting that literature still states 175 HP, but could very well have been detuned like the TC's. The stock LM in the GLHS's stated "sloped boost curve", reality was it was detuned LM to try to make the a525 tranny survive through warranty period. Bolting in a Shelby Z stock SMEC was considered a significant performance upgrade on the TC's.

Here's some pics.

The last three pics were taken in 1999 when the car was in for service at the local
Dodge Dealer. My friend Brad Wedan worked there and performed the service.
The Shelby had 17,000+ miles on it at that time.

Here's some up to date pics after we spent a week super detailing the Shelby.

My good friend Brad Wedan did most of the work. He owns www.wedanperformance.com

I love the balance on the SL's, they slide sooo nice!:eyebrows: My Factory Mule #748 was may 'family car' for 5+years until my daughter was a few years old. Those were great years in the SL:love: I had #271 for a while but it had a bad motor and we never bonded:o I'll have # 748 back again some day, I have an arrangement with it's current caretaker:thumb:

Thanks for the comments!

I love driving this car. I like it so much that I sold my '88 Shelby Z and
my '90 GTC VNT convert. The Shelby Z stayed here in town and the
GTC went to the Phoenix area.

It looks great, congratulations! I know what you mean about love driving it, I often find myself grabbing the keys for the Lancer over the GLHS. I think my enthusiasm has been projected on my daughter (3 now), as she also loves going for rides in "the red car".:thumb:

You might want to be careful to listen for rod knock on number 4.

You might want to be careful to listen for rod knock on number 4.

Why is that? I've been driving Turbo Mopars for 15 years and haven't had any issues.

I will be on the lookout though. The engine was gone thru 2,000 miles before I bought it.

Thanks for the suggestion.
