Up for sale is 1987 Shelby CSX # 193. I have had this car for 6 years and not done much with it. Reason I am selling is I have lost interest in TD's and would like to see it go to a good home to someone who can give it justice. I purchased the car in 2009 when I lived in Charlotte N.C. I brought it up with me when I made the monumental mistake of returning to the 49th worst economy in the nation in 2011. The car has NEVER seen salt and as such is not a typical northern rotbox. It has floors, rockers, NO rot around the E-Brake cable, etc.....
Now that being said the car DOES NOT RUN, there is a problem in the fuel pump circuit. If you spray starting fluid into the motor it will fire, however there is some short it keeps popping fuel pump fuses. You would be buying the car for the body. The motor does sound ok when it runs. It has the original 2.2 and A-520 Trans. In the time I have had it I have not upgraded it much. It does have a 2.5" Exhaust from turbo all the way back. I put on a TurbosUnleashed 3" Swingvalve on it with the idea of one day upgrading the exhaust. TurbosUnleashed has not made this swingvalve in years now. Also has a Turbos Unleashed thermostat housing. Car comes with ALL Shelby items, dash plaque, VALVE COVER, engine badge, door sills, Steering wheel, rear trunk medallion. This car was a blast to drive, definitely the best handling and most fun TD I have driven. With the beginning of the season this would make a fun car for someone for summer!
Additionally car IS VERIFIED on the Shelby Registry! Also if you research into the CSX you will find that the 1st 13 Cars Shelby bought for the CSX were red, he could not get them from Chrysler in Black. He had to paint the 1st 13 black at his factory. This is one of those 1st 13 cars. In several places you can CLEARLY see the red base coat and the black overspray. For a CSX collector it doesn't get more rare than this one!
Car is located in Canandaigua N.Y. about 25 miles from Rotchester N.Y. Car has clean NORTH CAROLINA title.
