Looking to purchase an '89+ 4-plane (A520/A555) shifter (the kind with the bend in it). Want to make a short throw shifter. Will need the shifter and bracket that bolts it to the floor. Anyone have a spare laying around?

i never saw a 520/555 shifter with a bend in it.

I'm pretty sure '89 Daytona was the only car to get that shifter, and I'm not even sure if all of them did or just the Shelby cars.
87-89 P-body cars got one with a more exaggerated bend in it. I have one of those that I'd let go of. I'll put pictures up when I can.

That sounds to be the one that I'm after. Pictures would be excellent :)

Well, I'm an idiot. I sold it back in October when I did a pre-becoming-a-father garage cleanout. But here's what the 87-89 P body shifter looks like:

The 89 only Daytona shifter is about 2" shorter and has a very slight bend... so slight that it may be hard to see in photos.

Very good, seems both would work then. Thanks for the picture anyway!

It's less than pristine, but I found it. The pattern button is gone from the knob, but it seems functional. I don't have the mounting plate tho. Make me an offer I can't refuse...

To clarify; what you have is exactly what's in the picture? If so, then that does have the mounting plate, and is what I am looking for. :)

It will come as pictured. Apparently I'm confused on what you mean by "mounting plate".

Haha I meant the bracket that secures the shifter to the floor of the vehicles. It also locks the cables in place. I'll fire off a PM to you later tonight :thumb:
