The track was super busy, only got in 4 runs but a new best. I was really hoping for a 14.9 but I was only able to squeeze out a 15.088. I'm pretty happy with the results since last year it went 18 with a bad trans. Then last month for the first time at the track this year I managed a 15.7 and now I'm at 15.08. The ony changes from 15.7 to 15.08 are 4 gallons of race gas, UDP, Taft S2 cam, and now running 16psi.

Still in search for the 14s
Andy

What's your setup like? What kind of car? Slicks, drag radials, street tires? What trans?

I'm assuming it's an auto and you were using street tires on a mitsu. Am I close?

Very nicely done.

More boost and you would have your 14, :eyebrows:

Looks like it is kind of falling off on the top end. Wonder if the cal might not should be retarded a bit in the upper RPM's. Not sure how much heavier the turbo wagon is than an 86 Daytona, but my last 1/8th mile run was a 9.7 @ 74mph and that was with 2nd gear slipping, and running 15psi on a modified log intake with Ford Probe IC.

I am hoping my Daytona will run mid to low 14's @ 12-14psi with some calibration tweaking and a fresh cylinder head that should be done soon. I also have a fresh transmission in it with a Cheetah RMVB and Alto Hi-Po clutch packs. The head is getting polished and ported with 1mm oversized tulip valves. I am also improving the intake and it will have a TU rebuilt stock turbo with quick spool.

Does your set up have an IC?

No intercooler just alcohol injection.

Your setup is very similar to what I was running. My car is an '86 Lebaron
2 dr, T1 auto. MP cal, alcohol injection. 2 1/2" downpipe with no cat.
2 1/4" over the rear axle ending with an Ultraflow mufler.

I ran this every year for 5 years, an got consistent 15.3 at 88-89 mph at 15lbs boost.

Then I got the bug for the 14's. I added race gas and went up to 17 lbs.
I got a 14.97, 14.98, and finally a 14.95! I also melted #4 piston badly and
had to rebuild. If I were you, I'd stick to 16lbs max and look for a better et by removing weight, lighter wheels, better 60' time by suspension work. My best 60' was a 2.21 on street tires. (Firestone Firehawks) My best 1/8 mile was 9.51 at 73. Sincerely,

Gary

I'm sure I can get more out of the 60 ft, just need to shim the sway bar to load the passenger side. Also have a couple more things to try. Would be nice if I could get more then just 4-6 runs in each time I go to the track.

What tire pressure you running in the DR's? We got 1.9's 60' in the NYer on hot DR's :thumb:

Try some coil spring spacers on the driver's side rear. AZ has them for $5 for a 4 pack. As the weight shifts under acceleration, the driver's side can't compress as far as the passenger side, thus throwing weight to the passenger front. It helped me.:thumb:

Yeah, I need to get the front evened out so I can get some better 60 foot. I think I'm going to try and shim it like Gus has on his site.

I was running the DRs at 20 psi and I even tryed getting them really hot but the passenger side still would spin some. So hopefully if i shim the swaybar to put some load on the passenger side tire it will even it out enough that both tires will spin.

20 psi is too high, try 15 or less.
