Picked this Dakota up last summer and have ben making improvements while using the truck as a daily driver.

Installed a clean rust free box today. Now the truck is 1/3 restored.

How bad is the underside of the cab? Much rust in the other spots?

The fenders are shot, wheel lips are as bad as the rear quarters. Outer rockers and cab corners are full of holes too. I have replacement rockers, cab corners and fenders. Its nice that most of the rust repair is bolt on parts. Makes life easier.

The rest of the truck is solid. Floors are surprisingly rust free.

Rob Lloyd burned a stage two cal and socketed a SMEC for me. I added a throttle body from a 360 too.

The truck runs really well considering it has 173000 miles on it. The rear end is noisy and needs bearings. That'll be the next thing that gets done.

I can't remember the last time I saw a rust-free box for a first or second gen Dakota.

New tailgate. Rust free and the correct color.

The gate was a take off from back in the 1990's. All it had was a little shelf wear.

I sealed the pinchweld with 3M self leveling sealer and gave the outside a buffing.
