Im comparing the instrument pin diagrams to try to figure that out. theres gotta be slight differences because the 89 cluster i put in the car the check engine light doesnt blink to pull codes, the gas gauge needle counts it. the coolant temp sensor is not working, if the headlights are on the whole cluster goes haywire and the gauges go nuts all the way to their max points

Wild. I know I tried a couple '87 clusters in my '88; I don't know if I tried any '89s for sure or not.

Yea the 90 TC cluster that must be a little diff the 89 does similar things bit neither gives me the check engine light codes which im trying to get to figure out whats up with my set up. Im hoping its something stupid like the clusters just are slightly different but according the diagrams i cant seem to see anything that standards out. I gotta check the part number on the boards today to see if they are different or the same number. With the lights off, almost all the gauges work but the temp gauge and check engine. Either its staying lit from start on or the cluster is lighting up the wrong spot because the pins are different and its really supposed to be the brake light cause those arent quite right yet. Im trying to not have to rewire this car because before it was parted, that all worked, I drove the car when it was for sale whole with the cluster that was in it that the owner has still of i wna drive to Easton pa to pick up

Ok so the part number is the same 87-89 on the circuit boards. Im gonna have to grab the original cluster off the previous owner.
