So I'm in the deal making phase with a guy about a dodge spirit 2.2 5 speed tII car
And catr are not my forte I prefer trucks.
So I found a jeep Comanche clean clear tx title that does not run. I was thinking of tossing the 2.2 turbo out if the spirit into the jeep any hiccups I may run into?

The jeep has a 2.5l with 5 speed manual

Completely different engines, which means everything will have to be custom fit.

My understanding is that it will bolt to the transmission tho,
All I would need to do is fab the motor mounts a radiator and inter cooler,

The 2.5, as used by AMC, used a General Motors bellhousing pattern, instead of the AMC bolt pattern, because it was a replacement for the Pontiac “Iron Duke” four-cylinder purchased by AMC while they adapted their straight-six into a four-cylinder.

Well hell I guess it's going to be a fab job rather than a bolt in swap.

I thought we figured out there was a unicorn 1 year postal Jeep that got a chrysler motor.... it was either that or some combo of a 1 year postal Jeep and 2.5 Dakota parts.

edit: No wait, that might have been the 1 year it had the iron duke in figuring out how to match a to an isuzu diesel or something....

Use a Dakota 2.5 bell housing and trans.

So the jeep 2.5and dakota 2.5 are not the same?

I read some where about a supra transmission but can't find the thread.

This was a spitball idea i had hoping the trans would bolt up if not i may pass on the Comanche

It is possible to mix and match your way to an 8v 2.5/ax15 comanche. Ax15 was used in lots of cherokees so putting it in a comanche is easy. Dakotas did use the ax15 with the dodge 2.5 very briefly so there is a factory bellhousing for it. It would be somewhere in the 92-95 range although im not 100% sure which year it started. Dakota got the AMC 2.5 in 96 so 95 would be the last year for the dodge bellhousing on ax15.

If you just want stuff to do a turbo build in another vehicle i would probably just sell you some stuff to build it and do partial cash on the rampage vs sending the spirit to get taken apart. :p I have some turbo 2.5s, 2 pc intakes, garrett turbo, tons of turbo manifolds, +20 injectors, flywheels, etc etc etc.

Like drag car? That could be cool. It has some handling mods but would need a few more if you wanted to autocross it or something like that.
