hey all..

hoping someone can perhaps help here. I have a set of eagle H beam rods in my T3 GLHS and have a rod bearing that looks slightly marginal that I'd like to replace --- unfortunately the "notch" on the clevite 77 CB1269P rod bearing is significantly bigger than the notch on the eagle rod. the rod cap notch measurers .115 while the notch on the clevite measures .115mm. the old bearing that was in the car is an unknown brand (to me) but the notch measures .113 so it fit fine. the markings on the old rod bearing seems to say "05507AA" and "234 6M". does anyone have any ideas what those bearings are or if there is some way to make this work short of filing the notch down on the clevite?

SRT rods? ...

Mike

not sure, i bought them from cindy / FWDP a while back, they were advertised as being for the T3 but i dont see any such listing on eagle's website so it must have been custom made or came from something else.

thanks. they were FWD-P p/n 37-0950 circa 2006. i dont plan on pulling the pistons out of the car to measure the pin though --- does anyone else have these eagle h-beam rods in their t3 and happen to know if it uses a SRT bearing?
rock auto shows the "max wall", "max length" and "oil clearance" are the same between a SRT4 and a T3 so I suspect this could make sense but I hate to take a guess and put something into the car that isnt the right thing and have a $4 bearing destroy a block, crank or head.

SPEEDFREEK500 used a set of these rods in his 2.5, and discovered the need for SRT 4 style bearings. Even after modifying the tab the clearance was too tight, but SRT 4 style bearings worked fine, As was mentioned, these rods are actually made for SRT 4's

Thanks

Yes, the eagle rods we use to sell use the srt-4 bearings. The new brian crower rods we sell use the old style 2.2/2.5 bearings. We sell both so if you need replacements just give us a call.
