Hello all. I'm the new owner of car #016. As you may already know I've had it a few weeks now and I've been going over some papers and boxes sent with the car. Not allot of time in the schedule, but I wanted to make sure I had everything ready before I came on the forum from pictures taken to paperwork scanned to MY questions to you!

So, here is my story:

Living in Lakeland Fl back in 92 i was awakened by a friend of mine who worked for Dobbs Publishing on a bright Saturday morning telling me I need to get my a$$ up and outside in a hurry I won't believe what he's got for the weekend. I'm use to him rolling up in all sorts of stuff, the weekend before was the new 93 Trans Am. So I shoo him away and slowly get up and make my way outside. To my surprise in the Barbie car. WTF?!?! Where the hell, or better yet, What the hell? Long story short there is a video to show parts of the ensuing mayhem (sorry Johnny, but way cool to see your car from way back then right?). Since that day I've wanted one.

In 1998 I tried to purchase on from Consulier, however the bank would not finance as a car loan because they did not list in Kelly Blue Book. They went back and forth with Consulier for about a week before saying it would have to be a personal loan blah blah blah. Obviously that killed the purchased for me at that time. I ended up with a different vehicle instead.

Five years later the search continues......

While on vacation in Hilton Head my son and I see an article saying there are GTPs going for sale and to call. WHAT?!?! Without hesitation we call and start planning a trip down to West Palm and how we can get a car back to Ohio while on vacation. Shortly however our dreams are destroyed. The last one was sold just a few weeks prior. Little did I know it was that rat bastard Johnny stealing the Barbie car right out from under me!

The good news was there was allot of cars released and they are out there now. Just needed to find them and pry them away from people. The market was now "flooded" with a whopping 50+ cars!

So I find www.consuliergtp.com (http://www.consuliergtp.com) and holy crap! it's the exact car I drove so long ago!!! I send Johnny an email telling him the story and let him know I have the video and some info if he's interested, we get to talking and he tells me he knows someone that may be selling a GTP, car 016.

A few weeks later 016 is delivered on a Thursday evening with a mere 1669 miles on the clock. It came with an obscene amount of paperwork, including what I would assume to be a build sheet for a Consulier (the breakdown of the serial numbers, key serial numbers, subframe numbers, radio serial number, cell phone serial number, transmission serial number, etc) which I can send to Johnny to share on the website. The Owners Manual, which is already shared. The "Service Station Parts" listing which I have scanned (has all the part numbers for lights, fuses, brakes, wipers, basically anything for standard maintenance. I can't recall If I sent this to Johnny already or not. And then there is a complete inventory parts list with part numbers down to nuts and bolts, however this I believe is part numbers only good for Consulier. I'm still researching the numbers to see. I'm going to scan this list and send to Johnny this week for him to see the parts list as well to get a second set of eyes on it as well.

Also included with 016 is a complete second set of glass minus the windshield. If someone is in need of a replacement piece, please let me know.

So, without further delay, here she is......

Welcome to the family. Great story!
I see a "Race Car 16" plaque on your subframe. Mine has "Race Car 22"
I think that the earlier cars were built with chassis numbers and VIN's. I've run across a site that had some info on Consuliers that were used in the 91 race season and they were chassis numbers 19 and 20. My car has blue rear springs and is also on the lower suspension setting ( upper mounting holes for the coil overs )
I'm also betting that your car doesn't have much in the way of standard info stickers like vacuum diagrams or emissions labels.

Correct, mine has Race Car 016 plaque welded to the rear subframe. The "build sheet" that came with my car however reveals something very odd; the front subframe is number 15. I've attached it here so you can see all the odd info it lists.

I don't think any of them came with emissions/vacuum diagram labels did they?

She is a beautiful one, but not THE one..... I'll never forgive you Johnny. Never. :)

After 25 or so years of messing with Turbo Mopars and hanging with the TM crowd I've come to the conclusion that we are a different sort of enthusiast;). If you're saying you like the Barbie car better than your 016 car, you *are* very different sir and will fit right in here:lol:. IMO red is the best color for the GTP's:nod:

Aaron's targa has the standard tire / weight / passenger info sticker on the driver door opening and a vacuum routing diagram in the engine bay. I have pics of all of the stickers, I'll either send them to Johnny to post on the Consulier site or see if I can post them here.

well, I sent them to Johnny. I don't have a place to host the images but I'm going to fix that shortly.https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-u4tGU-PSehQ/U_YOo_D_J5I/AAAAAAAAAGc/jfl8hT_ou9U/w744-h558-no/20130629_151715.jpg

Don't forget to add in a 5000lb tow rating on the capacity plate so you can hook up a u-haul for the power tour :D

These cars can never tow something...even 300 pounds. No frame!
