What do you all recommend for a stock diesel ford for performance and gas mileage improvement?

I picked up 2 mpg with a 4" exhaust and big air filter. No ecu mods. This was on a 2000 f250 with the 7.3. Really helped the spoolup as well.

So my dad's truck ended up being for a 2009 with the 6.4L. I suggested to him that he go for ARP head studs and the SCT LIVEWIRE TS and a custom tune for his daily commute and one for towing their massive 5th wheel.
