Hey guys I'm new to this thread and thanks for letting me join! But I was wondering what would be better for a 800hp turbo build with using stock blocks and (if so the 400) should I stroke it to 451? Any info will be appreciated.

I'd avoid using a 340. With the 400 if its a later engine the compression is low for emissions purpose even though you'd want to have forged pistons anyways. If you're on a budget the stroker crank isn't necessary depending on where you want your power and.

Welcome to the site! I'm not too up on the v8 stuff so I don't have much advice to offer. I'll go ahead and move this to the custom TM section though so that people don't get confused.

400 any day

better heads can be had from many sources
400 block is the strongest big block dodge block

beeffer than a 440 - 440 like to start spliting blocks at 700-800 hp
400's not quite so much

look at the exhaust ports on the 360 - waste of time unless it's what you already have

400's were cast crank ALL 383's were forged crank

383 = free steel crank included , but you're limited by the cylinder bores as to valve sizes

aluminum heads and water pumb on the 400 and for sure it's going to off set the slight increase in weight over the 360

low deck dodge big block is the best way to go unless your looking for stupid huge motors

Go with 400 !!! shop at 440 source http://store.440source.com/ prices are good and i loved the alu cylinder heads I just built a 440 for a friend using there parts the heads are cheeper than rebuilding the stock one and the valves are huge
