since my mill doesnt have enough X travel to machine the entire plenum plate at once, I machine those pockets in to act as references so I can slide the workpiece over when its time to do the other half, then edge find to a machined location (those pockets) :thumb:

Got ya, after I hit post I thought maybe it's to use an edge finder. I usually do round and a dial indicator so I didn't think about edge finding and a square pocket.

Asa, first of all :hail:. My BMF intake is one BMF!!!!!!:thumb: I plan on having my car operational in the next month or so if I don't have to work a lot. The only problem I see is the knock sensor. If you get the knock sensor mounting bracket constructed, I would like to purchase one from you. The intake is plain awesome. I am extremely excited to try this out. My car won't be the best car to take full advantage of the intake, but I am running a hybrid 46 Trim turbo, TU stainless header and a TU R2+ cam. It shouldn't be too bad. My calibration will probably be lean up top so it might be a little bit until I get it running properly.
I will eventually build a real engine for this car but for now it will have a cast crank and cast pistons and run low boost maybe 18 psi max. I have a pretty good head with +1mm valves, pt lifters and conical springs. It is ported pretty nice as well. We will see how it goes. If it doesn't run good, it won't be the intakes fault.

Ill be rolling out the KSM's probably when I actually start shipping BMFi's for the second group buy. Maybe a little earlier than that. So probably early March? Assuming thats the sort of KSM you are looking for?

I'll wait to install mine until i can get your KSM since i believe i have to drill and tap for it and that will be much tougher with a head already in a car. So my schedule is actually tied to the KSM more or less.

You can still do what I did, get a plate welded across the cylinder 2-3 runners and then drill/tap 3/8-16 thread. This is nearly identical location to stock.

I just picked up a piece of aluminum from Home depot, cut it to size, found a guy off craigslist that welds aluminum and he wanted $30 to do it.

That is ALOT more clearance than the model shows or that RGL10 reported would be the case on his L-body. I think around 0.5" to 0.75" at most was expected. Did you already beat in your firewall?

Also, my "L" body is a 2dr.
And my front center mount, to the radiator support is welded solid.
So that may move things a bit.

I figured a few things, and set drivetrain geometry in a fixed position.
It'll be a rough car to drive, I can assure you that. lol
