Hey all. Found this forum on Tapatalk and had to join. I had an 86 LeBaron GTS. Loved that car. Started my love for turbos. Here's a few pics of my new baby. It's a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. Built engine, Precision Turbo ProMod 94mm turbo, little shot of giggle gas. Runs 8.90's at 159mph. Looking for 8.30's come Sept. After the next round of mods. Enjoy the pics.

What drivetrain mods have you had to do? Welcome to the site!

I'll throw some videos up in a few days when I'm allowed to post a link. As far as tuning.... we run the stock PCM reprogrammed with Diablosport CMR software. We run a reprogrammed TCM as well.

Drive train mods..... oh man what a nightmare. We run an upgraded version of the stock Nag1 transmission. The thing can't handle power for squat. The converter lockup is electronically controlled and it's the biggest pain in the ---. It is a lockup style converter which freaks out when it sees the power we are throwing at it. It tries to save the tyranny by not locking it and I usually make a pass at 6000rpms. the whole way. My 8.90 passes the Converter slips 33% at the worst and crosses the line slipping 11%.

I am now in the process of ripping the Nag1 out and doing a T400 with an SCS Gearbox transfer case. Done screwing around. Looking for 8.30's come Sept. Tranny is being built as we speak by Proformance Transmissions. Can't wait to finally put all the power to the tires and the ground. Should be sick.

That is one sick jeep, what engine mods are done and how much boost are you running?

It's a full built 6.1L. Stuck with stock displacement for the added cylinder wall thickness. Has aftermarket Thitek heads on it with slightly larger valves. Custom ground reverse duration cam. 9.5:1 compression. Moroso vacuum pump. Meziere electric water pump. I run any where from 25 to 28psi depending on who I have to race. Lol. It makes 33rwhp per pound of boost.

Here's a few others we've built as well. These are TT's, 76mm which is our normal builds we do, and a few upgraded 88mm's.

When did you own the Lebaron? Were you in Jax around that time? Only reason I ask is because I used to live in Jax and I remember when Stage 6 was on Argyle Forest. I was just wondering if we know each other. Your name sounds familiar.

I want to do that to my '08 RAM 1500, but I don't even want to think about how much it would cost. :P

I had the Lebaron well before S6 started. I've known Dwight since the SpeedTek days. I used to have a red 5 Speed Maxima with a 300Z turbo engine in it. He did the kit back in the day. When he was in Argyle, I lived around the corner in Bishopwood. I drove Ford Diesels back then.

Holy crap...SpeedTek on Blanding! Man, that's a LONG time ago! I remember that place when I was in high school at OPHS! I honestly can't place the Maxima, though. That sucks. :(

I know Doc at EFI A. I am also in the area, your Lebaron was not white was it? I have an 89 Daytona Shelby but don't get out much in it anymore. Have been to a few of the dyno days/burger burns at EFI, heard of your Jeep but never caught up with you. Chris, how you doing man? Shoot me a PM so we don't Hi jack the thread. Bad Jeep man!

I am assuming the TT setups are not twin 76's and twin 88's????? Twin 88's is basically 3 liters per 88mm turbo which is 1400whp territory on one turbo for a 6 cylinder. Anyways that means a lot of lag that people here on this site with manual transmissions hate. I know a drag setup it doesn't matter, especially with a good automatic transmission. .

The green accented Jeep runs twin Comp Turbo(supplied by customer) 64's. It made 1065rwhp at 21psi on a 392ci. Also have done a 440 Alum. block with twin 6466's from Precision Turbo. It made 1203rwhp at 19psi. Most TT Jeeps stick with 62-67mm range. No need for twin 76's or 88's for what the majority of customers and what they do with the Jeeps. Most TT Jeeps run 9.0-9.4 1\4 mile range. The fastest Jeep there is went 8.52@163 with twin 67's.

Yeah we use EFI's dyno all the time. Just did a single 88mm 413ci Jeep there last week. Made 1117rwhp. We own the recond on that dyno. Doc and Jeff are good people. We did a 20 hour 5 car tuning marathon there once. That was a long day. Lol.
