Hey guys first time posting on this site I believe. My project car for over three years is finally done 89 plymouth horizon with a full Srt-4 swap. First week car is on the road. Has a couple of bugs still and I'm going for a full dyno tune next week. It's a shitty tune right now

3rd-4th gear pull fixed some boost leaks and adjusted fuel pressure. And yes im wearing a shirt i was on the way to the beach hah

Welcome to the site. I've seen your videos on youtube. This looks like a pretty good project so far. Any pictures of the engine bay? What kind of power output are you expecting?

Dirty engine bay shot. Been trying to clean it up alittle. I'm still on stock motor and trans gonna start at 350hp and go from there. When I get to like 450 ill end up building the motor over the winter. This car shouldn't need more than 350-400 to run some good numbers though

turbo/wastegate setup? Seems quick if it was a stock turbo not running well :D

Very cool. Did you retain the stock top and bottom motor mounts deals on the passenger side there? That's pretty neat.

We kept the stock top mount on the passenger side but the bottom one was changed to a bottom front

Awsome! Looks like it is going to be a handful when fully sorted out. Have fun, keep safe and post more videos like that if you would.

Good luck at the dyno!

Got to the dyno today! Got tuned by Chris miller and couldn't be happier with the results. Anyone that is close to Long Island New York and needs a tune, I highly recommend him.

20psi. 390hp/380trq

Shitty conditions outside so I only did a quick 3rd and then 4th gear pull, car is an absolute beast.

Wow. Those are some serious numbers for 20PSI. When will you be taking this thing to the track?

Going to maple grove on the 22nd. Gonna talk to the techs there and see what I need to run, the hatch is killing my, the fuel cell needs to be seperate from the rest of the car so I need to build some kind of box over it. So hopefully July I'll be making my first pass

Is it sitting in the spare tire well?

Wow, celebrity tuner.

We cut out the spare tire well and put a flat piece of metal there and put the fuel cell ontop. Looking back that ight have been a better idea

Not only because you could have just put a piece of metal over it held in by dzus fasteners, but because you're hurting yourself aerodynamically with it out. That is unless you've done something else there to keep air out from that area.

Hang the cell underneath where the spare tire well used to be, then just build a flap to fill it. This will also lower your cg height reducing f>r weight transfer.

Yea gonna have to take some time and look it over again. Sucks that it's already done and looks good where it is

Check the NHRA rules...I think if the cell is under the car, it needs to have a tubing structure built around it to protect it. Not positive though.

And by the way, great work on this thing. I checked out the build info on it the last few days. Looks great.

My cell is in the hatch area as well. It needs to be separate from the passenger area to be track legal.

What if you were to build a sheet metal box around it with a hatch for filling.

This was our plan from the start. I do remember reading something about the cage around it if it's exposed underneath the car. I think we are gonna make a removable box to put over it if we take it to the track

I never quite understood this one depending on the exact installtion. There is a layer of sheetmetal between my cell and the inside of the car except the actual filler which is directly bolted to the sheetmetal. If something is able to pop off the nearly impossible to remove cap, its gonna pop that hatch open.

The outer protective cage one I understand.

Hey man, it was great to meet you at Carlisle! I was the one that you met up with at the 2GN tent. Got any videos of that nasty J-turn that you did at the end of your first autocross run? People were cheering for that! Looked like something out of a movie.

Hey sorry guys been tough at work after carisle. Was fixing some bugs with the car and after a third gear pull snapped an axel right in half. Gonna call dss this weekend and see if they can make me some upgraded ones. Really pushing to get to the track by the end of this month.

I got an in car video of one of my runs. No power steering was really making me struggle haha

Just think, driving that car for a few years without power steering, no one would mess with you..... You will have arms like Popeye. Lol.

It definitely looked like a handful.

These axels were stock Srt that were cut, welded together, and then had a sleeve welded onto them. Got the car up and running which was good but a nice 3rd gear pull did the drivers side dirty haha. Ordering drive shaft shop stage 3 axels this week though

Naturaltravesty

Kinda just glad it broke now. Was starting to think they were gonna old up and would have sucked to break at the track. The dss axels are rated up to 550hp and the srt weighs prob 1k more so it should have less strain

No helmet at auto-x?? That's strange.

Interesting the axles snapped at what looks to be in the center of the sleeve. Makes me think the wall thickness of the sleeve was too thin.

I found this interesting after some thought on doing this to a minivan axle.

I talked with you at Carlisle this year with Dave and JT late in the day on Saturday (I think) looks good and good luck with the new axles.

Thank you. Axels and a box for the fuel cell is up next. It's driving me nuts not going to the track yet
