I acquired this sometime back off ebay. its never been used, its been sitting in a box in my backroom and its full or drywall dust from when I worked on my kitchen. it has a Chrysler flange, its marked tdo4h. its got a very small swingvalve, looks to be 2in. looks like it would be used in a suck through t1 setup from the compressor cover. I have no need for this, maybe someone else can think of a creative use for it. smallest Chrysler mitsu ive ever seen

I kind of want it just because. But, I have no idea what I'd do with it...

Back when the turbo companies (Garrett and Mitsu) were competing to win contracts for the turbo dodge production vehicles, samples were made for testing.
This one is Mitsu's entry for the 2.2 Turbo-I.

tempted to swap the swingvalve to 2.25 with another mitsu i have and put it on a suck through car and see how it spools

Man, put that thing on a 2.2 in a p - body or a l - body with a 5-speed for a daily driver and I bet it would be pretty spry.

I'll trade you a really small IHI turbo for one of those heavy 16v cars so it's not in your way anymore. ;)

too bad i really have no use for an ihi either. i have no use for any spare stuff.

Tom, is the O2 housing interchangeable with a later Mitsu unit? Do you know if it's smaller or larger than the production '88+ Mitsu turbos?

Seems like a really good deal. I'm surprised this hasn't sold already.

i guess i have to look at it closer as i have a regular blow through mitsu here also. will post findings

The o2 housings are the same other than a stock blow thru mitsu is either 2.25 or 2.5. The one on this prototype is clearly 2.0 it looks. Would bolt up. The 2.5 mitsu one to it and run a full 2.5 swingvalve back exhaust suck thru t1 with it. Would be interesting and different
