Is that doable? Not afraid of fabing things to fit. I thought I read a while back there isn't room for the starter but cant remember. Planning on doing this in my neon. I have the 568 and am planning on 450hp plus spray. The T350s seem to hold up but I'm sitting on the strongest TM tranny ever made so I'm thinking why not?

Thanks

Ask JT but Im sure one bolt hole doesnt line up and has to be added or left out.2.0 and 2.4 are same bell housing. With 450 HP you wont really be breaking a t350 unless you power shift it.Really the weakest link is the diff's.Atleast use ths safing tabs or upgrade to a lsd.Dont recomend welding the diff pin in.One that was welded almost killed me.568 is a great trans but arent getting any easier to find.3.55's and 3.94's are pretty easy to get ahold of.

I know about the bolt holes but thought there was a starter issue. I have a large splines 568 with I think 3.77s. Either tranny is getting a OBX LSD. My goal is 11.6 on DRs, traction is going to be a issue lol. The car has a 3.55 now. Just checking out all my options really. I want to do this build right and it bullet proof hence the 568. To hit the numbers I want on pump the turbo's going to be a little laggy so I was also thinking the3.77 would help on the street.

There is "some" starter interference on the 2003+ blocks. But several have worked around it.

Yeah, not too sure about the 2.0L but for 2.4L I have learned (and ground cast iron!) that with A568:

96-00 blocks clear starter
01+ blocks move oil port to behind the starter, need plug and grind
turbo 2.4L has extra rib behind starter for added oil return passage and needs clearance

For a 2.0L, I would keep the T350 as long as I could... maybe add OBX diff but other than that they are not bad

I could have sworn that someone got a nippondenso starter to fit without touching the block. Let me see if I can locate the thread.

And it was on a 01 up block I believe. He ground a bit off the starter but got it to clear.

There is a guy here posting who builds the neon transmissions and I would chat with him before changing transmission styles.

I don't think 450whp plus an undetermined amount of spray is very happy in any of our transmissions, especially when stock. The downside is that the oldschool ones have not been modified at all for any improvements except differential upgrades wheras you can get the t350 to handle more with known improvements. Not sure if JT will go forward with any improvements on the old stuff but I hope to over the next few years. We can't even find parts right now.
