Mopar Spring Fling, Van Nuys, CA April 5th and 6th

This is a great show with lots of nice cars. I usually go in my Dakota R/T, but will be taking my Daytona this year even though it's not "pretty".

They have a track day at Willow Springs on the 3rd and a Malibu cruise on the 4th leading up to the show.

Anyone else going to this? Will be there in my Daytona even though it's not a "show" car. Can't say I've ever seen one there before, but never really paid much attention in the past.

I'll be there-but the big event is Mopars at the Strip a week later-anniversary of the 426 Hemi. An event not to be missed as Tom Hoover(designer of the Hemi) and the original Ramchargers will be there. A special show category for the 426 Hemi cars, some cars that haven't been seen for years, etc. I'll be bringing something special and I have a nice original radio delete plate that I plan to have the Mopar legends sign.

Saturday is a show-n-shine.
Sunday is the judged day.
If you want the car in the show, closing time is 10 am to get in.
You can leave after 1 pm if you feel the need.

Unless you are Jay leno, then they let you come and go as you please on Sunday. And yes he shows up every year.

I used to really rally the SoCal TD/TM guys and twist some arms to go. Our largest turnout was 16 cars from our club and we won a the club participation trophy that year:number1: THen as the core group got older, had kids, bought houses etc, life got in the way of Spring Fling. I suppose I could try to rally a few tho like Forza I'll be under time constrainst to prep a car for MATS. I'll give it a try tho:thumb:

Club participation award? That must have been a while ago because I've been going to both Spring Fling and Fall Fling off and on since 2001 with a group of Dakota R/T guys and have never seen them give out a club participation award.

I brought the GLHS one year and got insulted by one of their judges, screw em.

I also have to say I was surprised when I took the GTC to Fall Fling a few years back, guy who was a Judge or A member of the club that host the event was very knowledgeable and interested in my car. Go and have a god time!

Yeah, you guys are correct, of course, I just wanted to vent. He was a FWD/turbo hating V8 guy. I went to the track day that year and had a good time.

Our first car show together and Johnny and I took 1st and 2nd place. If we keep this up they will probably penalize us with mud on our cars for future shows until they eventually ban us all together. ;)
