I have been searching all over for info on the Tbi header if it's really something special and worth the additional hassle To install one
Also other options that are available to purchase

The tbi header is texhnically the closest thing we have to a "stockish" equal length header. The primaries also collect in a more uniform direction than the log style headers. It merely requires a flange be welded on it, and drilled for your application. The options i remember for the 8v are the ported stock, tbi, TU cast header, and not the Simon & Shayne header. Or buy your own flanges (TU and FWD-P) and weld up your own.

I have a TBI header installed in my 2.2 CSX. With the setup I have, the car really breaths from 3500rpm 6700rpm.

You'll need the TBI header, special swingvalve, special downpipe, and oil drain pipe redone. You can use the stock oil drain, but a new one at the oil pan will be prefer. Then your intake piping will need to be custom as well, because the turbo isn't at the same place as before. Same with oil/coolant lines.

Oh, one added benefit, taking the turbo off is so much easier, as well as intake/exhaust manifold.

There is also the fact that the turbo is so close to the rack and something needs to be done in that regard if you want to be prudent in eliminating any problems there.

IMO the stock manifold has been proven at over 500WHP and the TBI header doesn't justify all the extra work to make it go. If I were going to do something all out and I found a deal on a TBI setup ready to go I would do it if the price was right. Otherwise I would probably hold out for a log style or even wait until JT has his unit available. I thought I remember him posting about getting closer to production recently.

We'll I bought a Tbi header it was a really good deal and if I don't use it On my SC I will put it on my lancer project but I also have a well ported stocker that would be much easier to use
My last option is lonewolf they are a little more expensive but completely custom header that is as close to stock location as you can get
