Engine ground

I have had this ground on my car here for a couple of seasons. I am not sure if this is the right location or if it is needed, I think it looks tacky. And i realize I used red wire, youth.. Do I need a ground, black wire, here?

You need the ground, but you could always ground the wire to somewhere below the power steering pump where it's less likely to be seen.

Replaced the old ground with a 4 gauge one, mounted it to the firewall lower down and out of view now. Better connection and more aesthetically pleasing.
