That's not too far out of line with tax on hotel rooms in a lot of areas. They really hit you up with the local taxes. If you stay long enough they'll refund you the tax.

What room did you get that is $40 tax per night? The tax for a room in Phoenix for one night was $18.50 with a rate of $129. The tax for mine is roughly $14 at this resort.

According to what was in Up Front, the $75 room is $83.63 with tax per night. The suite which goes for $105, is only $117.08 including tax.

If they quoted you $40 tax per night, may be you should call them back to double check.

Thanks Barry, those are what I've got in the contract from the site, if asked to pay more something isn't correct. There is $20 charge per night per guest for rooms with more than two adult occupants, so if booking a room for 4 adults that would explain a $40 additional charge.

Tax should be 11.5%, $8.63 a night on a $75 room.

Did you guys get a email confirmation of the room?

MY Screen shot of that part of the email....
$115.96 minus $75 for the room is $40.96 tax.

I called today, (six times) but no answer again. Will try tomorrow again.

I do have a confirmation. Mine doesnt even have a price. Apparently i have the only family suite but our room names are the same.

What doesnt make sense about yours is the room rate compared to the room total. If you have a regular room at $75 per nights thats $300 + tax which is close to your amount but not exactly.

My room rate is $105 per night which after tax is about $115 per night which ismwhat yoursmsays.

Totally confused and hope its not a cluster F when we go to check in.

Yes, the elite Consulier section. Walls painted teal with pink curtains. The TV only plays MTV (back when it was videos) and "Saved By the Bell" re-runs. Much like the Counsulier the tub and toilet in the room feature monocoque construction and the toilet even makes a BOV-like noise when it flushes.

Maybe I did get this after all!

I called and left a message and also emailed about my question.

I got a correction email ...........(I am happy now)

Your prior e-mail was slightly off with the total rate. The total with the tax is $334.52. The base room rate is $75+tax per night (the rate arranged for your group through Jeannine our events coordinator) and the tax is 11.5% which is $8.63 per day in tax, so the room rate with tax is $83.63 per night. Thank you

Really depends on the time of the day, trying to get through the city at 3-6pm on a Friday is an exercise in futility. However cruising around the city on 294 at 8am on a Saturday is a breeze. 294 and 355 move pretty good for the most part except for slowdowns during the commute. I usually avoid taking 94 straight through the city. Most 4 lane streets go through so many towns and stoplights it could take you a day to get from the south side to the WI border.

Keep in mind that most of the Chicago expressways are toll roads, bring cash, or the EZpass most eastern states use works in the Ipass lanes here.

Last Sunday during race practice at Indy Matchbox was .004 apart for its two passes and then started running on two cylinders before eliminations. Dialed REAL slow and went even slower...over 26 seconds at 42 mph....BLOWN HEAD GASKET! Got it over to Brad Pennington (a sponsor) and after doing a compression check with two cylinders down he pulled the head. It looked like a worm crawled between the cylinders. I picked up a reman head today and the car should be ready Saturday...then raced at Indy Sunday. Better to happen here and now instead of later and a couple of starts away!

Here I was worried about her car breaking down due to all the problems its had, and mine has had almost no problems and she has to go get me a new battery. Anyone have a hose and bucket, ours are a little dirty, we were 30 minutes out when that storm hit? We had to pull off for about 30 minutes & I thought we were gonna have to break out the boat paddles.

BEAUTIFUL black LeBaron! Is it a VNT as well (I don't see the "intercooled turbo" decal on the left headlight cover)? One of the few complete AAA body kits I've ever seen, too!

It looks to have a t3 in it now. I think it is Jackson's or a car he built for a guy Beautiful looking car!!! I'd like to see more pictures!!!!

Hi All, Just wondering if my old 87 SC showed up. It would have NJ plates. Can't miss it the car, it has the exhaust going through the center of the bumper. I guess if the new owner didn't change it that is. :-)

Thanks John

You know...the VNT question was pretty dumb...I even saw the TIII under the hood...dunno why I asked that.

Did anyone get a picture of the sequential (207-208-209) GLHS cars? I brought 207 to the car show but was only there for about an hour and forgot my camera.

If they were all at the car show, I'm pretty sure I got them individually. Don't think I got them all together though. Still working on them.

Yep those are the 3 ^^ I believe 209 is in the middel.

Had a blast meeting everyone, and some awesome cars were there. Loved the blue Dodge "Omlet" (Omni) that was shortned. Very cool looking.

*to a post above* - I didnt notice your 87' GLHS there with the exhaust exiting the middle, sorry.

Congrats on the 87' GLHS guys who got awards, Dr Mikes was pretty clean. Minigts, yours looks better in person then in pictures! (love the paint)

Had a great time at my first SDAC ever! I went with my Dad and I was the guy wearing the arm splint. I had to leave Sunday afternoon unfortunately. It was great to meet some of you guys in person finally!

It was amazing seeing so many turbo Mopars in one place, especially since I live in Wyoming and never see much. There were like 12 '89 CSX cars there!! I was kinda surprised there was only one '87 CSX and one '87 Shelby Lancer though.

My Dad says his favorite car there was the AWESOME black Lebaron TIII convertible or maybe the black Plymouth Reliant wagon with the beautiful black paint job and TII conversion. I really enjoyed seeing Adam Lengel's Omni GLH, Larry's RWD Sundance, Todd Nelson's incredibly done '88 CSX-T..... but the list goes on and on. I was in turbo Mopar heaven the whole time. There was also a guy with a blue GLH Turbo that had been restored and brought back from the dead that my dad and I were both really impressed by.

I gotta say though, the highlight of the whole trip for me was the ride I got in Jackson's green IROC R/T. Right before I had to leave after the car show he made time to give me a ride in it. It was a combination of pure exhilaration, scared shitless, and laughing my --- off while it spun the tires all the way up to 130+ MPH. Fastest car I have ever been in by far! Thanks for the ride and showing me what a TIII is really capable of Jackson.

All in all, it was a very humbling and inspiring experience. So many great cars, incredible workmanship and dedication going into these cars....in a lot of cases far more than I am capable of. I'm already wondering what car/project to bring next year and hope like hell I can bring something a lot more exciting than a stock Caliber SRT-4.

It was nice meeting all of you that I did.

Was nice to finally meet you as well. Bummer you couldn't stay, wish I would have had more time to spend, but I knew you had other things to do and just glad you had some time to get around, see some of the cars and spend some time chating with some new people.

The Bro says Thanks as well and we owe you one!

Thank man! Amazingly the paint has seen better days but even after a good wash it doesn't look too bad.

Jeremy it was great meeting you and talking for a bit. Definitely make it a point to come next year and put the Caliber to the test or whatever you have in the works. Time flies by when we're there, but we have such a great time meeting back up with old friends and meeting new ones. If you had fun at this SDAC, the next ones get even better. :thumb:

I am still on my drive home, made it to Colorado.

i had a Great time. I did not come as a vender to sell stuff this time. I came to just be there.
to enjoy the cars, to enjoy talking to everyone. Seems like time flew by did not get to talk
To as many as I wanted to. To put faces with names.

I hope to come again in the next couple years!!!
i really enjoy road trips, so it's half the fun. Being at SDAC is such a plus!

Matchbox was running perfect....until I filled up with a 10% alcohol blend. Ten miles later it was hard to start and ran like crap. Sounded mean though, as if it had a huge cam...but nearly a full second compared to Indy a few days earlier. The worst thing is that instead of being .02 from pass to pass it a full THREE TENTHS! I just am not worth a crap unless I have a consistent car...lost round 2 in brackets to a kid in a black Spirit that was sawing the tree down! Thought I had the turtle race figured out...left as normal and immediately shifted into high at 3000 rpm then stayed at 65 mph...then lifted at the mph light before the finish line. Last two practice laps were 20.04 and 20.17. Car went a 19.44 on the brakes and led the other guy across the line by a ton.

When I left Wednesday I stopped at a small speed shop S of Chicago to check out a Z28 like my 10 second one and the owner started talking about Matchbox, asking about just how big the cam was. I told him of my problems...opened the hood...and he immediately saw that the vacuum port on the isolator under the carb had no cap on it. I did not see it since it was under the pvc hose...I R AN IDIOT! He grabbed a cap and it was running like a sewing machine!

Thanks. Wasn't sure if he would make the trip from NJ or not. Guy asked a few questions about the car once he got it delivered and its been a year since. Kind of wondering what's been happening to it! :-)

Thanks
