I started the bidding off at 15k. My guess is $24 k and it may not meet the reserve.

Ends just before the new year!

It has a phone in it. It's like it is from the future.

Nice car. Wonder what the bidding will go to.

After looking at the picture of the little douche that penned the article, I can't believe he has the nerve to comment about how something looks. That and he's full of manure.

So is the "craze" for the Consulier over? Im the high bidder at $16,200 and unfortunately probably not even close to the reserve. Still 1.5 days to go thou.

So you are wanting two?

I'm not surprised you'd want more than one.
I'd like it, but not sure I should right now. I love the all white though!

Are you bidding to buy Mike? Or are you just testing the waters on the reserve price?

For the right price I'll take two. However, we're approaching the "right" price quickly.

If the bidding gets much higher I'm out......Not paying over $20g for this car. So more than likely I won't be owning it.

Id guess in the $21 range. Seller has some pretty high expectations from what he has said on turbododge.com

Tough to get a loan on anything more than 5 years old, let alone something they don't know about. Tried to get 21 grand for a 2000-2001 Prowler, yea nope.

I did once for a $10,000 "Omni". Just got a signature loan.

Its tough but not impossible. Just depends on how good your credit is and how bad you want it.

I would be willing to bet no one has looked into getting a loan for one. They just think it cant be done. Where there is a will there is a way.

The last Consulier that sold on ebay a while back was a Targa, this one a hard topped version.
The targa sold for $3000 more than the hard topped version.

They indeed lowered the reserve at the last minute today. So that makes me the winner. I think its a good deal also.

Congrats!
Good score. I was about to get a bid in myself since there was so little action. But with being on nightshift and having to sleep during the day I missed watching the close.
Way to go on the new acquisition!
You going to drive this one home???

Nice car Mike!

What are those wheels?

Johnny
01-02-2014, 01:24 PM
Caps say Cragar on them.

168glhs1986
01-02-2014, 01:56 PM
Yes, these are the same crager wheels on my blue Consulier. Only my Blue ones would need $500 in polishing to look this good.

I'm glad it went to a good home...in the TM community as well! I wonder how many of them actually ended up being owned by TM/TD people? I'm going to guess a large majority of them.

I'm guessing the majority are in the hands of the TM as well.

Notice that the "early" cars did not have the vent here (red circle) ?
How did air get into the car then? This is the vent for the heat/air bond system.

Air is drawn up through the floor in the battery compartment.See black heater vent hose on left.

Pretty easy to figure out-despite the "don't tell anyone" antics. You better be driving it out to the meet Thursday. If the pink terror can make it down from Coos Bay, your drive should be a cake walk. I'll be bringing mine.

It remained pretty confidential until loose lips found out about it last week.

Depends on if we can get all the bugs worked out in time to make it 700 mile round trip roadworthy. Remember, it took Johnny weeks before he took his first trip down from OR. Other challenges include ADOT's inability to view it as anything other then a "concept" car.

West coast and close to west coast is dominating the Consulier locations by owners. We have 2 in Cali. 2 in az. 1 in Oregon, 1 in Wisconson. 1 in Md and at least 2 in Florida. 1 in Texas that I know of.

I know three guys that own Consuliers in South Florida plus me...so four.
The three other guys we will probably not hear from on this site but they all used to work for Mosler.
I have tried to recruit them....maybe one day they will come around.
They would be a wealth of knowledge....they built all the cars.
We are trying to all get together and go for a beach cruise and swap stories soon...!!
Quite an odd parade for sure.
