If its tbi, the wiring harness, plug and play swap for a smec setup.

Definitely pull the Omni. You'll want that.

If its tbi, the wiring harness, plug and play swap for a smec setup. I thought the same thing until I saw a TBI-turbo conversion being done; it's not plug & play by any stretch. It's plug & play if you don't count replacing the bulkhead connector and almost every individual pin on either the engine or body side, adding wiring for the HEP, adding more wiring for the injectors, adding wiring for the knock sensor, removing wiring for EGR and the list goes on.

The 88 89 interior harness us plug and play with a 89 turbo van engine harness. That is what people mean

I have been told otherwise..even thought I have the entire under dash and underhood harnesses.

What under hood harness do you have?

If it's manual steering, grab the steering rack and coupler.

Grab nothing if you plan to sell the stuff, you'll lose money on it.

Is it auto? What motor? It may have the 1.22 transfer gears if it's a 1.7 auto.

If it's manual steering, grab the steering rack and coupler.

If it is in deed a manual steering car. I'm very interesed in the section that goes between rack & steering column.

That's the mystery coupler that everyone seems to have problems finding. I think I have a couple extra laying around... :)

its an auto -- its a carb, not sure if 1.7 or 2.2 -- i'll pull them just to be safe..

That coupler is actually the same as a late 70s manual pinto rack. Some farming is still necessary, but it does work.

You'll need a steering wheel puller, some large sockets, and a breaker bar. Id' just pull the cover and count teeth and calculate the ratio on your phone before trying to pull anything.

84 is a 2.2, no 1.22 gears.....

If not broken, pull the signal light lever (and switch) - they always wear out. If a grey interior, pull all the interior trim as that is what is used in the GLHS.

+1. Listen to this wise man. You'll store the stuff for twenty years and then end up throwing or giving 90% away.

+2 Grab only stuff YOU need/want. I lost money pulling stuff off an Omni that I didn't need.

+3. It happened to me. I parted out an '86 Omni and kept a LOT of it. Most all of it is still in my garage. Thankfully it had the same color interior as my Omni GLH and I did get some cool carpeted door panels for it and some decent seats. Some things like the headlight switch have come in handy....but hoarding parts really isn't so fun in the end.
