I made this for a buddy last week. It is for his 03 Mazdaspeed Protege. He is swapping turbos and couldnt use the internal WG on the new turbo. So I welded this up for him. Just used a MIG and a lot of heat. A LOT of heat! We got it red hot 3-4" from where it was welded and then burned it in a inch at a time while re-heating between welds. Once it was welded we stuck it in a BBQ that was 600 degree's. We left it in the BBQ for about 10 min for the heat to even out and then shut the BBQ off but left the mani inside so it cooled down slowly. It didnt crack, so I must have done something right. Ive always been afraid of welding cast but this went so smoothly I have a few other projects I am going to attempt. The next big one is welding a EVO 8 hot side compressor to a stock SRT turbofold....
