Hey guys, Im going to porting my two piece intake this winter. And I am going to get a 52 mm tb to go along with the port. I know that the 52m tb came a 3.0 and 3.3, but I also read that you have to be careful on the 3.0 that some where the same as the 4cy's? Is that true? What years will work if I go to the yard part #? And also what about the AIS will that need to be changed out for the 2.2? I found two on ebay will any of these work? Thanks for the help!

IIRC the 87-88 3.0 minivans where a perfect choice. They were 52mm and had the proper throttle lever for TV (throttle valve for auto), kickdown, TPS, and twin nipples for purge solenoid. I know some later 3.0's had the smaller 46mm TB's. I'm sure there are many other applications that would fit the bill, but I know these are an exact bolt-in after obviously opening up casting to 52mm. Use the same AIS that comes on 52mm. TPS on all early 46 & 52 TB's are interchangable. Some have electrical connector pointing towards firewall, and others point towards drivers strut.

If you have a 5 speed, any 52mm will work. Just reuse your stock sensors and your golden.

Todd think you're thinking of the 3.3 TB, Every 3.3 I've seen at the yards has had the vac nipples in the correct location. The 3.0's on the other hand have had vac nipples all over the place depending on year. 87-88 3.0's are 52's but the nipples are wrong. 89+ 3.0's are 46mm's.

The throttle arms are interchangable between the 46's and 52, so you can just use yours if you have an Auto with no attachments on the 52.
