84 G body Laser - whats the procedure to remove old hub and bearing and install new?
I disassembled the car according to the 84 shop manual, but without the dealership tool
kit (C-4811) I don't see how to remove and replace hub on the car. I guess I could unbolt
the knuckle from the strut and take it somewhere, but I would rather not do that.
Thanks in advance for responding.

The recommendation I have heard in the past is to pull the knuckle and strut as a unit. Then pay the machine shop a little extra to press the bearing out and new in. That avoids having to align the vehicle.

This tool: http://www2.otctools.com/otctools.com/newcatalog/products/106430.pdf. I paid $350 10 years ago for that kit. Sometimes the only way to do the job is to pay out the butt for the proper tools or pay someone who has the tools to do it. You can do it with a press like this: http://www.harborfreight.com/12-ton-shop-press-33497.html but you still need some of the pieces that come in the OTC kit I first posted. I prefer to use the Harbor Freight press with the adaptors because sometimes the bearing just won't let go using the screw press that comes with the OTC kit.
