Non cross drilled head with a HO short block. What is the ideal gasket which is currently available?

Cometic, copper coat, ARP studs.

I ran a felpro in my non cross drilled block on the ScAries. Went numerous autox runs and a ton of drag passes on nitrous, with a best of 11.01 with it before I got greedy and popped it after a dumb decision. I wouldnt hesitate to use a felpro at all.

I do have a set of studs which I plan on using.

I'm sold. I'll be happy to be in the 12s so that'll do for me.

I think Dan Carson runs a felpro in his 10 second Omni also. It will work fine.

I just think the felpro is less forgiving to lean issues and detonation.Cometic would be nice, but they are expensive as hell.

And less forgiving means installing a new headgasket and fixing the bad tune :D As long as we are talking forged pistons.

Yea. At least when the felpro goes youre out 20 bucks, not 400 or more for thise pistons....

Bingo. :-)

I'd rather blow the headgasket than use something that is going to contain the massive pressure spikes of detonation. Save the pistons, rods and bearings, blow the gasket.
