Looking through the rules and I am stumped.

I see "maybe" it would be in one of these classes...
SSP - super street mod
SSM - super street prepared
XP - (what ever that means)

Anyone good at reading this SCCA rules and figuring out what class this car would run?

I dont know what class you would belong in but im sure XP is where they would try to put you unless you had a good argument for fitting in somewhere else.

However, the classes do not matter at all unless you are looking to compete within a class against other people in it, or you care about bench racing your PAX score against the other drivers at the event in other classes. If you just want to drive and hang out and be ranked primarily by the actual time you put down, i would just go XP and be done with it.

For this year just the stock street tires I have on it. They are.....
Falken ZIEX ZE912
205x50x15 front
225x50x15 rear

Well, you'll just be learning the car for now. I dont think even an expertly driven Consulier could outright win fastest time with those tires on it, at least in most places. Some smaller clubs produce flukes of a good driver winning in an under-prepared car but most places the FTD will go to something race-prepped on r-compound tires.

It ought to be a ton of fun anyway. The car definitely has the potential to go as far as you want to push it as far as upgrades and driving.

These calculations seem right:

(1)
1600 lb base weight
2.2L x 1.4L displacement with turbo = 3.6L
3.6L x 200 lb/L weight penalty = 720 lb
1600 + 720 = 2320 minimum weight.

(2)
Rear wheel weight greater than 51%: +25 lbs per liter
Adjust by + 90 lb if rear weight bias = 2410 minimum weight.

(3)
Tire width 275mm or less (all): -200 lbs

Adjust by -200 lb if tire width is less than 275mm = 2210 minimum weight.
================================
super street modIfied class (ssm)

All two-seat cars not excluded below.
All SM eligible sedans/coupes excluded from SM. All SM eligible vehicles.
