Cross-drilled or not?

I took the head off (782 cross-drilled) and there is a small chunk missing on the wall of the number 2 cyl, between #2 and #3. The size is about 1cm in length by a few mm thickness (half a pinky nail kinda thing. The shop I took it to said they would pressure test it and if need be weld it up. I also have a 782 non cross-drilled that I do not know the condition of. I was thinking of taking them both in to get checked. Anyway is the cross-drilled one worth it to fix?

From what I have read it doesn't really matter

Or the shop can cross drill the head. I did it myself.

Took the both to a machine shop and went with the crossdrilled one, it was ok.
