The 2 events aren't related, just happens to be the same day.

Morning: AutoX sponsored by the Brandywine Motorsports Club and the local Porsche Club. Small course about 50 sec. run times.

Location:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=39.604312,-75.728481&hl=en&num=1&t=h&z=19

Evening: the 5th annual Chuck Wagon Memorial cruise, this is an outlaw cruise, no sponsors (cruising is not a crime), good weather will bring about 1000 cars, most people jump from shopping center to shopping center along Rt 2, Kirkwood Highway.

Location:
https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=DE-2+W%2FCapitol+Trail&daddr=3403-3421+Kirkwood+Hwy,+Wilmington,+DE+19808&hl=en&sll=39.705676,-75.685426&sspn=0.006521,0.011523&geocode=FTjYXQIdfhV9-w%3BFc1SXgIdCvZ9-ynfbihB_QHHiTG48LoKvM0JPQ&t=m&mra=prev&z=14

Also, if there are any train buffs, the Wilmington & Western steam train will be running between events, if you want to make a full day of it.

Seems like a cool event! Unfortunately, I'll be in NJ for the Lemons race.

It does sound like a fun event...but I'll be out of town also. Family vacation in NC.

The autoX course was set up around goose poop, no kidding, a ton of it, it was swept up toward the center of the parking lot with the loose gravel and that dictated a tight and confusing course with a clean run being a rare one. I started off good being the first car to break into the 50's with a 58 sec. run, that woke everybody up and they stepped up their game. I choked on my last run and went off course (the long way) and posted a 56 sec which would have put me about 4th overall out of 40 cars if it had counted so I was pissed. Next mod will be a Polybushing's rear anti-sway bar because people were telling me I went around the course on 3 wheels.

The Chuckwagon Memorial cruise turned out as big as expected. 5 years ago when it started I was one of the naysayers about starting something like a Woodward Ave cruise but was proven wrong. This year was the first year with good weather and an estimated 900 cars showed up and stayed into the wee hours of the night, I'm about a 1/2 mile from the main area and was hearing burnouts at my house at 1 am. I can't believe the police weren't busting people left and right, DE has a reputation for being pulled over so this event looks like it's going to grow. It is a totally outlaw cruise, no sponsors and nobody is taking credit for the event, pretty cool.
