Is it normal for the car to seem to pull harder at partial throttle than full throttle? Even when the boost gauge is only reading 7-10 psi?

It's weird, cuz it does.

I've also noticed that at full throttle, it will go to 13psi, drop to just under 10, then stabilize at 13.

This is my 3rd EEK, but my 1st turbo, so alot of this is really new to me.

Yes, it will pull harder:

At full throttle, the ECU uses built in fuel maps to determine the best/safest fuel mixture.

At part throttle the ECU is in closed loop and uses the O2 sensor to determine fuel mixture. This can, in some instances, lean out the engine.

So, you mean to tell me that accelerating at partial throttle is possibly dangerous????

Yep! I'm no expert at this but I do know, and have always been told that "part throttle" accelerations can cause some problems. If you have a wideband O2 gauge try it a few times and see what it says.

It was part throttle acceleration that I experienced detonation for the 1st time on my supercharged Saturn. Needless to say, I have a Turbo Dodge now :D
