MP computer issues

I purchased a used MP performance computer from a member on here and when i install it my power loss light flickers quickly and it acts like its running on 3 cylinders. I can put my stock one back in and the car runs fine. Defective MP computer ? Its on my 87 Shelby charger ...

What year is the MP computer for?
You need a 1986 computor as the 87 charger (L bodies) had 86 electronics.

I didn't check for codes, ill hook it back up and check again. The power loss light doesn't stay on, it just flickers. the guy I bought it from says its for a 87. here is the part# P4532325

That's not the right computer for you. That's for an 85 which has a different distributor (and head also)

I plugged the MP computer back in and checked codes and it shows 13 & 54. It seems to run rich... checked the connectors all looked good, plugged up my old computer and she runs fine.

The code 13 is for the MAP sensor and the 54 is for the timing signal (HEP in the distributor), but like shmedley said, the 85 distributor is different.

yeah... I figured out the guy sold me the wrong one for my car, trying to get ahold of (shellboy)..
