this was put together for my 87 GLHS but I recently sold the car. Its 89 2.5 common block with forged 90 2.2 common block crank, T3 forged rods with ARP rod bolts. the bottom is set up to be put into an 8v car. it has modified brackets so that the 8v brackets work with the 16v lotus head. engine hasn't been ran since put together. comes with a lot of stuff not pictured but are already installed. INCLUDING the passenger side motor mount & bracket, water pump, pulleys, fresh resurfaced 8 bolt flywheel, and oil pan. engine is sealed up and ready for a top end. $550 shipped to the lower 48 states

Factory pistons I believe. Open for anything all I have is 8v cars now

So, from the sounds of it, the block is just honed to accept standard size used (forged Mahle) TIII pistons. Unless I'm missing something I'm not sure how that is going to work with a 2.5L crank. Hence the confusion in this thread.

They are the forged mahle pistons in a 2.5 common block. I didn't build the bottom end it was built by jay jordan from the buckeye chapter

T3 pistons and rods on a 2.5 crank would stick the pistons out of the top of the block. The 2.2 piston pin height is not correct for a 2.5 crank.

To me, it looks like an 8v common block, which probably used to have a 2.5 crank in it, with 2.2 crank, rods and T3 pistons on it. I'm not the seller, so I can't say for certain what it is, but that's what it looks like to me....assuming the pistons don't stick up past the deck of the block at the top of the stroke.
